This little gal got chilled yesterday and I set her on a flower top for the evening thinking she would catch some sun and fly off. The spot I set her, however, stayed in the shade and she was still there. I moved her into the sun on the flower top but she still wasn't moving much and when i put my hand near her she climbed onto it. I got a few drops of water for her on a spoon, still a little sugary from some apple crisp ☺️, and i could watch her drink it up! She quickly perked up and off she flew. My heart just exploded 💘

The cosmos, too, are giving lots of pollen. I am fairly sure that this pretty gal is resting here on her final visit. She is slow and not moving much at all. I will forever find this moment so touching. What is it like to die this way? Tonight may freeze, the sun is already getting low. She will likely pass with this last sunset. It feels like a good way to go.

I neglected to take the Hopi dye sunflower heads before the birds enjoyed all the delicious seed. But there are just a few they haven't finished entirely. what a surprise to find this big dog remaining. Look at that beautiful double fibonacci of almost untouched seeds. such beauty at each step. looking forward to giving these a try on fabric. Mental note, the birds do not care about my timeline. I sure know better! Thanks for saving me a few, birdies.
