One of our three DSquared company philosophies is Culinary Brilliance.
This term is about more than just great food. It’s about consistency, creativity, pride in ex*****on, and the ability to elevate every dining experience.

Every year, we honor the members of our team who exemplify this philosophy at our company party, The Davey Awards.

2025’s award for Culinary Brilliance goes to Julia Jones, one of our amazing prep cooks at .

Our DSquared Hospitality “Davey Award” for Teamwork recognizes someone who makes all of us better simply by how they show up for others. This year, that person is Melo Bell from our team.

Melo is the definition of a true teammate. He is always willing to step in and help anyone, in any department, without hesitation.

It doesn’t matter what the task is or how busy the shift may be, Melo shows up ready to support the team.

What makes him stand out even more is the way he does it. His positive attitude is steady and genuine.

He brings good energy, consistency, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed. He helps create an environment where people feel supported, capable, and part of something bigger than themselves.

Serving more food with less waste - that’s one way we’re doing our part today and every day at DSquared Hospitality thanks to !

We serve over 10 thousand lunches each week at , all via compostable packaging through partners like Cedar Grove.

Cedar Grove’s compostable to-go boxes, combined with food waste, create ideal feedstock that can be transformed into healthy soil and, ultimately, locally grown food that goes back into our community.

Meet the winner of the (newly named) Tony Alcantara Guest First Award at our 10th annual Davey Awards:
Kim Pham, one of our Lead Servers.

Kim was nominated for always keeping both internal and external guests at the forefront of her decisions.

We did something special at our 10th annual Davey Awards. We started naming the awards after the longtime employees who embodied their characteristics.

There are some people who are so good at what they do that when it’s time to look for the shining stars in our team, their names come up year after year.

And often, we run out of ways to continue recognizing them because we don’t want to just keep giving the awards to the same people. 😅

For the “Guest First” Award - one of our three company philosophies - that person is Tony Alcantara.

Winner of the “Most Engaging” Award in 2015 (our first ever Davey Awards) and then the “Guest First” Award in 2021, Tony’s name comes up every year for this category because of the warmth and kindness he exudes to our clients, our team, and everyone around him.

To know Tony is to love him.

And after teasing us for a couple years now with potential retirement, we wanted to honor his long history with Tuxedos & Tennis Shoes and DSquared Hospitality.

And so, this award will now and forever be known as the “Tony Alcantara Guest First Award” 🏆 💗

Thank you, Tony - for your steadfast dedication to our team and for being a shining example of our company philosophy of guest-first service!
