🛠 Our Big Damn Party fundraiser auction brought together an extraordinary community of artists, supporters, and friends, raising $50,000 in support of Theatre Off Jackson, our artists, and the Chinatown–International District community. The evening was a celebration of the creativity, irreverence, and unexpected encounters that make TOJ unique, reminding us of the power of gathering around a shared commitment to independent performance and the arts.

Tootsie Spangles is a Seattle-based barbarian bard, clown about town, multi-disciplinary performance artist, emcee, and puppet enthusiast. When she’s not onstage, Tootsie currently teaches theatre classes to all ages and participates in a Great British Bake-off fantasy league.

Gina Wilhelm has puppeted professionally since 2011, and she presents her puppet works through her company Works of Gina’s. Specializing mainly in ventriloquism and mouth and rod puppets, nine out of 10 of her previous puppet co-workers recommend her as the finest hand up their ass they’ve ever known. When not exploring new ideas with puppets, she performs in meat theater. She’s trying something different in this slam, and she hopes you will enjoy it. If not, it will be too dark for you to throw things at her.
