From designers who proudly tell us their line “goes up to a size 16” (um… who’s that fitting, sweetie?) to people “just looking” for their friend’s cousin’s sister’s niece who’s “a little heavy” — we’ve truly heard it all. 😅 (you won't believe the third one)

Running a plus-size bridal boutique means the gowns are stunning, the brides are fabulous, and the comments? Well, they keep us entertained.

Things People Say Way Too Often To Us in Our Curvy Bridal Boutique 🪄

The Curvy Godmothers are back with MORE ridiculous statements we hear (shockingly often) 🥸

Having a boutique means you get walk-ins from designers all the time...especially ones who do NOT offer plus sizes. If your designs don’t go up to AT LEAST a 24, honey, you are barking up the WRONG tree. We are still searching for an answer as to why their sizing can’t be INCLUSIVE (and how they don’t know what plus size actually is!!)

We will absolutely give you a magazine and a card for your extremely distant friend’s niece who is engaged!! If the bride isn’t with you we simply can’t have you pulling all of our gowns off the racks 😬

Our store IS indeed a Bridal Boutique and we like it to look that way! Plus Size should not immediately be affiliated with frumpy🙅🏼‍♀️We take pride in making sure our store is clean, organized, and full of gorgeous gowns that fit EVERY BRIDE who walks through our doors!!

We’re your Curvy Godmothers and here are 3 things that no bride will ever hear when shopping at our Curvy Bridal Boutique!

A common misconception is that we strictly cater to plus size women, and while our samples are all between a size 20-30, we can order ANY size (and we have some of the best stylists that are experts at clipping the dresses to any body size!) Think of our boutique as being all-inclusive, since everyone will be able to get into dresses that zip!

As an Ivory & Main bride, you will NEVER hear us suggest weight loss or covering certain areas of your body. We think you are absolutely stunning as you are, and we will spend your entire appointment reminding you. If you want a confidence boost, an appointment at Ivory & Main might be exactly what the doctor ordered.
