Hi! 🤗 I’m Kayla, the newest member of the Whoa Events team!

I’m a proud Auburn University graduate with a background in marketing, project support, and team leadership. I love meeting new people, figuring out how to bring ideas to life, and finding ways to make things run a little more smoothly. I’m excited to bring my curiosity, creativity, and can-do attitude to Whoa Events!

The assignment: See What’s Possible 👀

We’ve been bringing Donor Experience Summit to life since 2024, and we’re big believers that a returning event should never feel like a rerun.

This year in Brooklyn, we took “See What’s Possible” and ran with it. From interactive moments to personal touches, we carried the theme beyond the name badge and into every corner of the event.

It’s the little details that turn a theme from something you hear into something you feel.

The textures. The vintage-inspired furniture. The warm woods & rich colors. 🤎

FORTH is exactly the kind of property that makes our design-loving hearts at Whoa very happy. We are thrilled to be heading there for an event in February 2027.

FORTH only opened in June 2024, making it a relatively new addition to Atlanta’s Historic Old Fourth Ward. The 16-story property was designed with influences from classic Americana and contemporary European interiors.

The meeting space is thoughtfully designed, with a separate ground floor entrance, plenty of natural light & the ability to adjust meeting room sizes depending on your event needs.

This fall, we are producing an investor retreat out of the city and into the Catskills. 🍂

What started as a one-day event evolved into an overnight retreat at Scribner’s Lodge, giving our client more time and space for meaningful conversation, thoughtful connection, and a change of scenery.

Scribner’s Lodge checked all the boxes:
✔️ Perfect size for a property buyout
✔️ Onsite activities provided through venue or partners
✔️ Drivable distance from Manhattan

We loved helping take the idea from “what if?” to “this feels right.”

Sometimes clients come to us with the whole plan. Sometimes they just know they want to get out of the city. We’re here for both.

A good idea, the right venue, and a little calm in the chaos. That’s a pretty good place to start.

It’s official! Another group is headed to Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa 🍷 for an offsite.

There’s something especially rewarding about returning to a property with a new group and knowing it’s the right fit.

✨ Four years at Whoa Events = Sabbatical ✨

This year, we’re celebrating Monica Powell and Meredith D’Auria on their 4-year work anniversaries at Whoa Events!

For a small business, four years is a really big deal. When people choose to build their careers with us, it creates continuity for our clients, strengthens our team, and says something meaningful about the kind of workplace we’re building.

At Whoa Events, reaching four years also means it’s time for a 3-week sabbatical. In fact, we don’t just offer it, we require it.

Why? Because this industry asks a lot of people. We believe that taking time to rest, recharge, and gain a little perspective isn’t a luxury, it’s essential. When we take care of our team, they’re able to take even better care of our clients.

Monica and Meredith, thank you for four amazing years. We couldn’t imagine Whoa Events without you, and we can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings. 🤎

You see a team offsite. We see better events.

Every year, our team reunites for an annual offsite and familiarization trip. Our location is selected based on client interest and event potential. It’s not only an opportunity for our team to meet, it’s also an opportunity for us to build destination expertise.

Since last year’s offsite, hosted by Noble House, we have successfully brought three events to their properties in San Diego.

Nothing compares to an in-person site visit.

Every walkthrough helps us evaluate meeting spaces, guest flow, room quality, the neighborhood, amenities, and details that can’t be captured in a virtual site visit or brochure.

We support local.

The best events are rooted in the community. We seek out local businesses and partners that bring character, culture, and memorable experiences to every program.

Team building with a purpose.

This is our chance to grow together while exploring activities we can confidently recommend to our clients.

We see what’s possible.

As we are planning for our 2026 Whoa Events Offsite, we are reminded of why our team spends time meeting in-person and discovering a city. Every venue, neighborhood, conversation, and experience sparks new ideas for unforgettable events.
