The event is still on as planned for this evening! We have made some adjustments with having some vendors, food trucks and the carriage rides cancel on coming as we asked them to make the decision as they felt fit for their safety.

BUT, we still have plenty of vendors coming, some food trucks are going to brave the cold and a petting zoo that will be set up in the industrial building. Santa will still be in the Women’s Building along with some crafts that the kiddos can do!

As for the planned HoliJay light walk through - if you want to brave the cold to walk it, we won’t stop you! But we will leave the route open for vehicles to drive through if they would still like. We just ask that you be extra cautious in case people are walking!

Stay warm, bundle up, and we will see you soon!

Today, the Jay County Fair Association held its Annual Meeting. Topics covered included a financial review, a 4-H program update, and reviews of several events: the Cards & Collectibles Show, Tri-State, Harness Racing, and the 2nd Harvest Food Bank Tailgate. We also highlighted the Fair’s new strategic plan moving forward.

Financial highlights showed a highly successful fair, with operating profits of just over $80,000. When looking at the overall financial picture, the Association finished the year with a net profit of more than $23,000. The fairboard continues to strengthen its financial footing, especially as major infrastructure projects continue to take place.

The 2026 Jay County Fair will take place June 27–July 4, and the Fair Board will be announcing the headline concert in February, stay tuned!

During the meeting, members elected the following board members: Katie Loy, Josh Stewart, Rick Neargarder , Amanda Nixon (new), and Dustine Hilfiker (new). We also recognized Gary Stewart for an incredible 30 years of service and Dalton VanSkyock for six years of dedicated service to the Jay County Fair Association.

Following the Annual Meeting, the Board held its reorganization meeting. Officers elected for 2026 are:

President: Travis Theurer
Vice President: Jeremy Lewis
Treasurer: Dillon Muhlenkamp
Secretary: Joshua Stewart

During the reorganization, we proudly celebrated Aaron for his three years of outstanding leadership as President. We are grateful for his dedication and steady guidance, and we’re excited that he will continue serving the Fair Association in a Director role.

Weekend #3 of the HoliJay Lights! 🙌

This weekends gate workers receiving 25% of the donations are:

Friday 12/5: Penn Husky Hotshots
Saturday 12/6: Dairy Club
Sunday 12/7: Wabash Cannonballs

While the lights are simply just a free will donation, your contributions are what allow us to re-invest more into this holiday event and allows us to grow. Please, consider donating when you arrive and are greeted by the volunteers working. We cannot do this without all of your support and want to continue providing this local light display option for years to come! ❤️🎄

If you were out past the fairgrounds this evening, you probably got to see the place lit up! 🌟

A group of board members, spouses and volunteers took a walk through the lights to make sure everything was in the best working order. We’ve got a few kinks to work out, but it will be in tip top shape by Friday at 6pm! 🎄🎅🏼

⚠️ We just ask that as people are going through the fairgrounds that they are extra cautious! There are some lights that get close to the roads and we have security lights removed and it makes the grounds dark. If you bring your dogs out, be curteous of where they run through the grass as they could trip on cords or pull them apart. ⚠️

It’s almost time! 🎄🤩

Cruisin’ the HoliJay lights kicks off next weekend with the start of the Jay County Chamber of Commerce Winterfest celebration! The group listed for each date will receive a percentage of the donations at the gate that night.

More details about Winterfest at the Fairgrounds will be shared soon!
