The moment I spotted Lauretta and her super cute mobile bar (yes, it’s a converted horse trailer and yes, it’s as charming as it sounds), I knew we had to have her at The Parsonage.

Lauretta isn’t just about great cocktails—though trust me, she makes a mean drink. She’s got incredible style, an eye for detail, and brings such a fun, easygoing energy to every event. Bonus: she’s a hardworking mompreneur balancing it all like a pro.

I’m so excited to see all the new followers checking out The Parsonage page! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to anyone who doesn’t already know us.

I’m Megan Kramer, and along with my husband Aaron, we’re the proud owners of The Parsonage Events. We’re a local family here in Plainfield, IL, raising our two little ones, Brooklyn and Brayden.

I was born and raised in Plainfield, and was part of the original Plainfield High School. I still remember being in 5th grade the day the tornado hit. My family also owned Krebs Drug Store in downtown Plainfield for 20 years (now Hazel Marie’s). I spent many afternoons on Lockport St. watching my dad and Grandpa run the business as the local Pharmacists.

After high school, I moved to Chicago to pursue my big city dreams. I’ve been working in the event industry for over 15 years. Before moving back, I focused on corporate event planning, organizing everything from small gatherings to large-scale programs for Fortune 500 companies. I also gained experience in nonprofit and marketing events and even managed the event department for a 40,000 square-foot restaurant and venue in the city.

Aaron, my better half, has been a real estate agent for over 10 years. Though he’s not directly in the event industry, he’s always been my biggest supporter. Together, we’ve always loved hosting and planning big events for our friends and family — if you’ve ever been to a Kramer party, you know we don’t do anything small!

When Covid hit, we moved back home to be closer to family and raise our kids. During that time, we dreamed of opening our own space to bring our creativity and love for celebrating life’s special moments to life. And here we are, two years in the making, with The Parsonage! We are beyond grateful for all the support we’ve received and for those that believed in our vision. We can’t wait to host some amazing events for you all.
