*Members include men and women of all backgrounds that are business individuals or entrepreneurs and are affiliated with any college.*

***We are open to non-members for events such as rehearsal dinners, showers, weddings, business gatherings, etc.***

Originally established in 1930, the Allegheny HYP Club today is the cumulative merger of three premier city clubs that helped shape Pittsburgh: Th

e Harvard Yale Princeton Club, The Pittsburgh Club (merged 1997), and The Allegheny Club (merged 2002). For over 85 years, the Club’s members who include leaders of business, finance, education, government, medicine, and the arts, have cherished the Club due to the personal attention and exceptional service they receive. Surrounded by elegant furnishings and works of art in an historic venue, members and their guests enjoy fine dining, social events, private conferences, evening lounge, and event facilities.

An Evening of Art & Architecture by “Candlelight”
at the Allegheny HYP Club
619 William Penn Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15219
Wednesday, September 18, 5:30–7:30 PM

Step out of the workday and into history. The Allegheny Harvard-Yale-Princeton Club invites you to its library for an
intimate “candlelit” exhibition of encaustic wax paintings by Freddie Bainbridge.

This collection explores Pittsburgh’s historic architecture, timeless landscapes, and a few surprise abstracts—all created in
molten wax with natural pigments. Each piece layers texture and light in ways that connect art to the very materials of the
city.

The evening will open with a tour of the Club’s landmark Georgian-style building, followed by time in the library where
art, history, and conversation meet. A full cash bar will be available in the lounge for members and guests to enjoy before
and after the show.

This event also marks the launch of a monthly Artist Salon in the library—an ongoing gathering where artists, thinkers,
and community voices are invited to share ideas and creativity. Everyone is welcome.

Join us as we begin this new tradition with art, architecture, and lively exchange where we are surrounded by the legacy
and conversations that have shaped Pittsburgh's history through the years.

Hi There,

So here are some things happening in club land in the near future along with some other updates. All of the events listed are open to ALL.

First off, the Nassau Club of Princeton, New Jersey has become a reciprocal partner of ours. The club has been around since 1889 and features dining as well as lodging. Their site can be found HERE
https://www.nassauclub.org/ If you find yourself in Princeton, NJ, you now have a place to eat and stay.

In the world of events, here's what's coming up at the club between now and the end of September.

From the folks who put together the popular Swartz In the City events here at the club comes the Penn Ivy+ University Innovation Forum with Len Caric. Len's a professor at CMU's Tepper School of Business and will be presenting here on Thursday, September 4th. You should come check it out! Register right HERE so we know to expect you https://upenn.imodules.com/s/1587/gid2/16/interior.aspx?sid=1587&gid=18&pgid=48688&cid=98735&ecid=98735&crid=0&calpgid=61&calcid=26296

Is gin your thing? What about good food? Maybe a little of column A and a little of column B? Well, our friends at Britsburgh are having a gin and food pairing here on Saturday, September 6th. If interested click HERE https://www.britsburgh.com/upcoming-schedule/a-gin-for-all-seasons NOTE: The deadline to register for this is Friday, the 29th at 7pm, so don't delay!

The very next night, September 5th, is our First Friday event. Come on out and meet up with AHYP members and some non-members. Bring along some non-members and introduce them to this place! The more the merrier! You can share the event and let us know you're coming by clicking HERE https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1559895091209?aff=oddtdtcreator

We've got our monthly members' luncheon on Wednesday, September 17th. These are fun, you should come out. We have a nice bite to eat, see some folks again and meet others for the first time. Check out the menu and register HERE https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1612330406649?aff=oddtdtcreator

Artist Freddie Bainbridge will be displaying some of his work with a show here on Thursday, September 18th. Freddie has loaned his awesome portrait of George Westinghouse for display in the bar and many of his other works can be found HERE. https://www.painterman407.com/ Come on down and check out the art!

Our next Pittsburgh History Series event is happening on Wednesday, September 24th. The subject will be West View Park. West View was *the* amusement park for those in the north hills of Pittsburgh. That is up until its closure in 1977. Author Mike Funyak will give a presentation on the history of the park. I have a feeling this one is going to end up being very well attended. Be a part of the fun and reminisce / learn about the dearly missed, West View Park. Register HERE https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1564457597789?aff=oddtdtcreator

Mentalist / magician Shane Patrick will be here with his show 13 Deceptions on Thursday, September 25th. Shane states the following:
"Held within the parlour room (library) of the prestigious and historical AHYP Club, this exclusive experience offers a journey into the hidden world of magic, inspired by whispers of a Vaudeville performer whose 13th show was shrouded in superstition and secrecy. Guests will be guided through a courtyard, into the halls of a 100 year old building, and finally into an intimate parlor room—where the magic unfolds."

We've got quite a few events coming up in October as well. You can find them on the Clubster Events page or on our page. I'll cover those in a future posting/email.

Stay Well,

If you haven't purchased a ticket for this event yet, I...I...I just don't know what to tell you. It'll easily be the coolest thing you've done all of September. Details and how to buy a ticket are below.

The newest production by renowned magician and mentalist Shane Patrick has already had three sold out runs. So we've decided to do it again at a NEW secret location!

Held within the parlour room of the prestigious and historical AHYP Club, this exclusive experience offers a journey into the hidden world of magic, inspired by whispers of a Vaudeville performer whose 13th show was shrouded in superstition and secrecy.Guests will be guided through a courtyard, into the halls of a 100 year old building, and finally into an intimate parlor room—where the magic unfolds. With only two public performances in total, this limited engagement offers an unforgettable, immersive experience that plays on the power and mystery of the number 13. "There’s a reason 13 is feared and revered," says Shane Patrick. "This show takes you through that superstition, drawing you into a hidden world where the impossible feels real."

**Tickets cannot be purchased at the door. They must be purchased ahead of the show through the ticket link.
