Bokay Studio Nature inspired freelance floral design that focuses on custom work with a touch of the Prairie! Email: [email protected] Open by Appointment!

My work evolves with the seasons, incorporating locally sourced botanicals.💐
Kay Decker, Floral Artist
By Appointment! We all have lasting visuals from our childhood, and poppies with paper petals and caterpillar stems, are the first of mine. I’ve always been grateful for the home my parents made, teaching me the love of nature and awareness for the beauty of flowers. Every step of the way from the first zinnia patch my mom helped me plant, to the pastel petunias that perfumed our summers on my grandma’s front porch, flowers made a lasting impression on me. It was easy to choose Art and Horticulture as formal study, followed by many years of rewarding work in greenhouse and retail floral design. Now, my dream to continue my work and share my passion in a studio setting has come true, in the beautiful historic Hyde Building at Bokay Studio. Email: [email protected]

Looking at fall through gaillardia, blush roses, lavender and prairie dropseed! https://bokaystudio.com/2026/10/10/october-garden/

O suns and skies and clouds of June,
And flowers of June together,
Ye cannot rival for one hour October's bright blue weather;
- Helen Hunt Jackson

L o o k u p …and catch the monarchs dropping from the sky for the zinnias while the showy seed stems of prairie grasses, especially the dropseed, add a layer of ethereal texture.

Thanks everyone for thinking of me when you need floral design that contains a bit of prairie. I absolutely love creating for you!
