Repost by Gabriella Marie Photography Katie said YES!!!! Mike proposed to her during a Memorial Day Weekend trip visiting both of their hometowns 🥹 but they made a new memory at a new place - a forever yes at Morris Arboretum 🫶🏼

Mike had been planning the perfect moment for months!! I had photographed an engagement session and a wedding there before, so he was able to look through a bunch of my photos before deciding on a new spot. Katie loves “weeping” trees, so he wanted to incorporate those in the photo (and hopefully keep it private away from the crowds!).

I arrived to the park early and scouted the European Beech trees he picked out. And to my surprise, there was a secret (aka PRIVATE!) pathway between the two trees that felt like a Narnia moment!! I took photos and texted him directions for exactly where to go to propose. Everything worked out perfectly and Katie was so so happy!!!!

We walked around the gardens taking photos for another 45 minutes, capturing their joy and the waves of happy tears that kept showing up. One of my favorite parts was when we encountered a huge grass hill and Katie asked “can we frolic down the hill?!” 😆 I said DUH and got the cutest photos ever of them barreling down the hill, hand in hand, twirling, laughing, kissing and spinning around. A physical representation of their love for each other!!!

I am so insanely happy for these two - I had the best time with them and I’m so hype for them to start planning forever together!!! Massive congrats to Mike & Katie 💛
