Beautiful Christina had such a clear vision for her Latin speakeasy wedding, inspired by her Panamanian heritage and filled with details that felt absolutely personal to her.

The day began at home with her parents, her brother, and her best girls - the perfect start to a sunny winter wedding day.

And there were so many meaningful touches woven in: a sweet dog tag in memory of Sam, an embroidered patch from her husband (and childhood soccer teammate!), her grandmother’s vintage robe, and, of course, her Bear of Honor, Mum. đŸ€Ž

The kind of details that tell you so much about a person before the wedding day has even really begun.

I love to see the joy and sweetness between couples on the wedding day. You know when two people just 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 đ•šđ•„. Her smile that reveals a heart or kindness and grace. The way he looks at her, fully enjoying her joy and excitement. It’s soooooo lovely. And these two 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 đ•šđ•„.

But hold on. Can you tell that a freak storm rolled in and the skies opened up moments before she made it into the church? Can you tell that we lost power at the church 3x? Can you tell that the venue lost power as well and we had to relocate the entire (fully set up) reception from upstairs to downstairs with no working elevator? Can you tell? Do you see it in their faces? No?

Celebrating Experience Chartreuse today on their one-year-business-anniversary! ✹

It feels like I’ve known and loved Alicia and Sara forever. Their eye for beauty and design, thoughtful and collaborative creative process, willingness to dive in and work hard, and genuine kindness and grace has been a joy to witness and experience first hand.

Beyond the Event was born from a simple idea: wedding planners deserve community, too.

For our fifth gathering, we traded a traditional meeting for a retreat at Apollo Fields, a beautiful horse property and micro wedding venue in Central New Jersey.

We spent the day exploring the grounds, picking flowers, creating bouquets, sharing an incredible omakase meal, painting together in the reading room, and settling into meaningful conversations about business, life, challenges, and dreams.

What I love most about this community is that it’s built on generosity, support, and genuine connection. For a few hours, we stepped away from the demands of our businesses and gave ourselves permission to pause, reflect, share, and learn from one another.

That’s what Beyond the Event has always been about.
