Paebaek / pyebaek in a nutshell!
Paebaek is a tradition where the bride and groom are introduced into each other's families. After bowing to the elders, we pour shots of wine. Yes, Koreans drink wine, not tea! ๐ The elders offer words of wisdom and throw chestnuts and dates. The number the couple catch are the number of children they will have in the future. The couple then do their own little activities like drink wine together and conclude the ceremony with a piggyback ride.
