As a vocalist, Ed Johnson is frequently compared to Ivan Lins, Milton Nascimento, Kenny Rankin, and Michael Franks. As a guitarist and bandleader, critics often cite the lushly exotic, accessible sounds of Airto and Flora Purim. Ed has seven recording projects to his credit, in addition to producer’s credits for other singer/songwriters.

Put on your tux or evening gown. Mix up some vodka martinis, shaken, not stirred, of course. And drive your Aston Martin to The Hall this Saturday for The James Bond Experience featuring Ms Deborah Del Mastro. Other secret agents and spies will also be musically featured in this very fun show.

As April comes and goes, I am reminded that it's been one year since I've been here at The Hall. Having a great time with you all. Many of you have stopped and talked with me on Saturday nights. I appreciate it, even the complaints! April also means my birthday is coming up and I have a new grandson--whom I lovingly volunteered for!!!

Did you miss The James Bond Experience earlier at Town Hall Theatre in Lafayette on Feb 15th? Well, never fear because we’re bringing this fun and entertaining show to The Hall in Pacifica on Saturday April 26th at 7:30!

The James Bond Experience is an evening celebrating over 60 years of James Bond: the theme songs, stories of the times, the making of the films and of the men who have portrayed the Coolest of the Cool, Secret Agent 007, James Bond. We’ll talk about iconic Bond Girls, Bond Villians, the Cold War and the birth of the “Secret Agent” in television and films – while hearing many of the 25 James Bond Theme songs!
Who is your favorite James Bond? Do you remember when you first heard the unmistakable sound of the James Bond theme? Join me with my 4 piece band, Shaken, Not Stirred, my Bond Girls and special guest Chris Vettel. It’ll be a night to remember!

We have a new band in Pacifica this Saturday, Dennis Johnson and The Revelators. These boys are drivin' down from the Sacramento area and I hope you'll give 'em a listen this Saturday at our usual 7:30.

Dennis plays a rockin' slide guitar. He's gotten rave reviews in several Blues publications and his albums have charted on Worldwide Roots Music Report Charts.
To date, Dennis has produced 4 albums of slide guitar wizardry! Hope to see you.

The Nichols Family Band, made up of our former Artistic Director, Morning Nichols, accompanied by Jim and John Nichols, and drummer (and honorary family member) Dave Rokeach will be returning to The Hall. They will be lighting up our stage with a mix of Blues, Americana, and songs from the Great American Songbook. Our current Artistic Director, Billy Philadelphia, will be their special guest.
Morning Nichols is a pure and compelling vocalist, who brings a jazz sensibility, and an Americana spirit to her own interpretation of each song. She has performed extensively at a variety of concerts, clubs, and festivals, including the Monterey Jazz Festival and the Mabel Mercer West Coast Cabaret Convention. She has performed with Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins, Mark Murphy, Kenny Rankin, Martin Taylor, Les Brown Big Band, and others. She was featured for seven years with the acclaimed Full Faith & Credit Big Band and has taught vocal clinics in Europe and the U.S., including Grammy in the Schools in San Francisco.
Jim Nichols plays everything from modern jazz, blues and Americana to Chet Atkins style. His impressive credentials include appearances on television, radio, concert halls, and clubs including Carnegie Hall and the Tonight Show. He has played and/or recorded with Tommy Emmanuel, Kenny Rankin, Chet Atkins, Hubert Laws, Buddy Montgomery, Van Morrison, T***s Thielemans, Tom Waits, and others.

Founded in 1996 as the West Coast’s first ensemble devoted to danzón, an insuperably elegant and foundational 19th century style of Afro-Cuban music and dance, Orquesta La Moderna Tradición is a charanga orchestra with strings, woodwinds and percussion.

Delivering driving and gracefully interlocking Afro-Cuban rhythms, the 12-piece group is led by veteran violinist Tregar Otton and legendary percussionist Michael Spiro, a 10-time Grammy nominee who’s also the first and only American ever nominated for a Cubadisco award (the Cuban “Grammys”) in the traditional Afro-Cuban category.
