Come on down to Norman on Saturday, June 20, from 5-8 p.m. to celebrate Pride poolside with all of us Dirty Queerdos! ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

Bring a bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, and dinner if you have dietary restrictions. The board will provide picnic/BBQ style food. ๐ŸŒญ

We have a recommended donation of $10 to cover the pool rental, but we want you to come whether or not you can donate! ๐Ÿ’ต

Since this event is located in Norman, we are making an effort to carpool from the Paseo. Please DM to arrange transportation. ๐Ÿš—

The Three Voices of Poetry - Pivoting Perspective 3๏ธโƒฃ

This workshop will explore the three distinct voices used in poetry - writing to oneโ€™s self, addressing an audience, and creating a dramatic character. Weโ€™ll practice pivoting our perspective to transform our innermost thoughts into multi-dimensional works and captivating storytelling. This framework is used frequently by poets and songwriters but requires no previous writing experience! ๐Ÿ“

Ways To Title Poems ๐Ÿ“œ

In this workshop, weโ€™ll discuss the impact titles have on poems, explore 10 poem title categories, and write in response to some wild titles. Weโ€™ll conclude by titling some poems. ๐Ÿ“

Jason Stephenson taught English and creative writing for thirteen years and now supports English teachers in his role at Oklahomaโ€™s state education agency. A product of southeastern Oklahoma, Jason began attending Red Dirt Poetry open mics in 2017, and currently serves as the co-director of education. ๐ŸŽ
