When .hersey told me she didn’t want a dance party after her reception dinner and preferred to create a cocktail jazz lounge, I was immediately excited by the possibilities. The band brought so much extra old world charm to Prospect Park Boathouse that night.
Aside from the couple’s dreamy tablescape and florals , their unique reception also featured a beautiful dedicated Kid’s Lounge. There, children could dine and watch the entertainment while occupied by their coloring book kits, away from boring grown ups and their dinner talk.
A vintage photo booth was the Bride’s “something borrowed” (an idea from her cousin’s wedding that she attended in elementary school, and that she still has the photo strips from).
Although the reception aesthetic was a mix of elegant vintage and organic garden florals, the Bride’s style is also fun and unexpected. So, we brought in a cake by that was a modern, maximalist sculpture full of whimsy.
We stand firmly by our belief that each wedding we design and produce should be an authentic and distinctive reflection of the couple, and no two are alike. The very special guest experiences and details throughout this wedding were never ostentatious - but full of intention, personality, and meaning to the couple.
