I discovered the sweetest surprise early this morning, while walking in the rain past my high tunnel to check on the peonies… mama likely tucked her little one near this tulip crate for safe keeping while she went to feed, and had I not glanced in that direction, I never would have known it was there. I feel so lucky to have shared a quiet moment with one of nature’s newest miracles. Welcome to the world, sweet baby - and thank you for giving me the very best reason to pause, smile, and soak in the moment… we didn’t mind the raindrops one bit! 💕

The Valentine’s collection will be at the Cupid's Corner Handmade Market tomorrow, and I would truly love to see you there.

Before I share more, I also want to let you know why inventory will be quite limited for this event. A few weeks ago, in the early morning hours, we awoke to an unexpected electrical fire in our home. By God’s grace, we were able to get out safely with our two fur-babies, and volunteers from three of our local fire departments (Gorman, Deer Park and Oakland) responded quickly — even in subzero temperatures and difficult conditions. Words fall short when trying to express the gratitude and appreciation we hold for these brave, selfless men and women; 'thank you' simply doesn't feel like enough! We are incredibly grateful to be safe and surrounded by the love and support of friends and family. Many in our area have faced far greater loss, and our hearts remain with them.

The months ahead will look different for us, and this will certainly impact parts of our upcoming growing season — though rest assured… there will be flowers. 🌸

As for tomorrow, production was understandably interrupted, so quantities will be smaller than planned. If there’s something you’ve had your heart set on, I gently encourage you to come early.

Each candle, sachet, and simmer mix on my table represents resilience, intention, and gratitude. It is always an honor to be part of your expressions of love — especially this year.

With the Cupid’s Corner Handmade Market fast approaching, I wanted to share a closer look at what I’ve been lovingly creating for this special event to be held in downtown Oakland, MD next Saturday, February 14th, from 10am–4pm.

This Valentine’s collection brings together eco-friendly soy wax candles in a range of styles — from playful, whimsical designs embellished with molded wax teddy bears, cupcakes, and hearts, to elevated, luxury pieces poured into iridescent glass vessels and finished with intricately molded wax blossoms. Each candle is hand-poured, thoughtfully detailed, and designed to feel both joyful and refined.

The collection features a curated palette of scents, thoughtfully developed to suit the season — including sultry, sweet, citrus, fruit, and floral notes. Whether you’re drawn to something romantic and cozy or light and uplifting, there’s a fragrance meant to be lingered over.

In addition to candles, I’ll also have:

💕Botanical soy wax sachet sets and melts, accented with beautiful, dried florals

💕Spring-inspired stovetop simmer mixes, blending herbs and blooms that hint at the freshness of the early season

For those of you who had some difficulty locating us at the last market, hopefully this info will help guide you to our spot: locate the Garret Arts Council Gallery at 108 South Second Street, and either (a) enter and go through to the very back of the store (being sure to appreciate all the lovely offerings from local artists and artisans along the way) and pass through the door at the rear to enter the Smart Art Space, or (b) go past the storefront and take the alley next to the building, where you’ll enter the Smart Art Space through the side door.

I’m delighted to share that I’ll be a featured vendor at Cupid’s Corner — A Handmade Market, designed to celebrate all things heartfelt on Saturday, February 14th, from 10am–4pm in the SMART ART Space in downtown Oakland, MD.

I’m currently putting the finishing touches on a Valentine’s Day collection that blends playful charm with refined elegance. Think eco-friendly soy wax candles adorned with molded teddy bears, cupcakes, and hearts, alongside luxury designs in iridescent glass vessels featuring intricate molded wax blossoms — each one thoughtfully crafted and beautifully detailed.
