Alfonso's passion for music can be traced back to recording his favorite tracks off the radio and trading mix CD's with his friends. He's always been intrigued by both the artistic and technical aspects of DJ'ing, and finally dove into this world at the end of 2018. House music is his foundation and main love, and he finds enjoyment in many forms of electronic dance music. Striking a solid vibe with his listeners is what makes him happiest. He grew up on '90's era underground hip hop, R&B, electronica, indie rock, video games, sportscars, snowboarding, and Pacific Northwest culture; the positive influence on his sound is apparent. With Alfonso, the sound has to bounce, groove, connect with the crowd, and have the right attitude. He's covered a lot of ground in his relatively short journey as a DJ: playing for many of Seattle's more prominent outfits (LOST, Nark Magazine, Field Trip, Uniting Souls, Studio 4/4, etc.) at the city's hottest venues (Monkey Loft, Q Nightclub, Kremwerk, Re-Bar, etc.), as well as venturing out to rock parties in Vancouver, Boston, San Diego, and Palm Springs. Whether it be an intimate basement, underground rave, sprawling club, or sunny, rooftop deck, Alfonso can hit the proper groove. Alfonso Tan currently holds a residency with the infamous LOST Family, rocking monthly 2nd-Saturday shows with them at Monkey Loft, and a residency with The Cuff, frequently tearing up their dance floor during the rest of the month. He also recently played Beyond Wonderland 2021 at the Gorge for Insomniac, Desertopia for Palm Springs Pride, and will close out the year with an NYE Celebration on his home turf at the Cuff. Alfonso has also begun producing music - playing with techy, bangin', make-you-dance, club sounds. He has been thoroughly enjoying the evolution in this realm thus far, and plans to keep releasing music while taking opportunities to rock dance floors in a post-lockdown era. Music has always been an important force in Alfonso's life, and he aims to channel its power through his DJ'ing and productions.

Playing Brick Park last Saturday as the opener for BUNT. was an absolute blast!! The ‘in the round’ setup that he’s been touring with made for a really cool 360-style stage in a very historic & scenic part of the city. This combined with the dynamic lighting hitting the trees and buildings made for a really sick atmosphere 🤩

Musically, I really enjoyed playing at a faster tempo than usual to better match BUNT.’s style, starting my set at 130 BPM. NGL, I was pretty nervous starting off 😅 Doors for the show opened at 7PM, and there was already a large crowd waiting as I began setting up for an 8PM set. Fortunately, they were groovin’ as soon as I hit play on my first track and kept the energy up the whole time 📈 It was a really great crowd to play for and I was a bit floored by the cheers I was getting at the end 🥰 Y’all were gettin’ down!! 🤘

This is undoubtedly a main highlight from 2026 (and recent history) in DJ’ing, and I’m still buzzin’
off of it. Huge thanks to showbox and BUNT. for having me, and all the dancers!! Also, big thanks to all the friends that attended! It was great to have your support, and then get suuuper loose to BUNT. together 🙏❤️ Let’s boogie again soon, y’all!

☔️ If I had to choose one day for it to rain this weekend, Friday (today) definitely would’ve been it. Fortunately, it’s just for today, because the next two days are gonna be super sick:

🪐 SAT: I’ll be opening for the super-energetic BUNT. at one of Seattle’s newest, coolest stages - Brick Park in Occidental Square, where some wild shows have happened, and where huge World Cup viewing parties were hosted during the season (➡️ swipe to get an idea of what it’s like). It’s gonna be a grrreat time, and given the tempo that BUNT. plays at, it’ll be pretty rad to lean into my faster side 🏎️😎 Let’s get LOOSE!! If you’re around, come through and let’s enjoy this dope outdoor venue while we can 🙌 I start things off at 8PM

🪩 SUN: Before we trade the shorts, shades, and BBQ for grey sweats, rain jackets, and bowls of pho, let’s have one last Sunday Funday on The Cuff Complex patio to wrap up T-Dance season. I LOVE a proper tea, and it’s been a really great way to fight off the Sunday scaries, so join me for one more opportunity to do so in this fashion. I’ll have a great collection of funky, vocal, feel-good house and disco for the occasion 🔊 The forecast is dry, but the patio is covered anyhow, and the event is FREE. Hope to see you there! 🕺

After starting the autumn season off with a few weeks away from DJ’ing, it’s time to get back to it with some rad events 💥 To get things jumpstarted, I’ll be getting on a really dope stage this Saturday in Pioneer Square to support BUNT., then sending off Tea Dance Season on Sunday afternoon 🪩 After that, catch me in PDX, NYC, and around Seattle, helping y’all cut loose to a wide variety sounds at some of my favorite spots with some of my favorite people. Where am I seeing you? 👀

A few shots of summer 2026 in DJ-land, from the professionals 📸 Thanks for getting my good side, y’all (🏷️’d)! [note: this doesn’t cover every event, just photographer captures]

To go along with my recent non-DJ summer reflection, I’m now posting to reflect on how DJ-land went 🎧 Overall, I’d say it went pretty damn great ❤️ Summer 2026 was the biggest summer I’ve had: debuts in PHI, PVR, ATL, and Ptown, returns to CHI, SFO, YVR, and NYC, and really cool sh*t all over Seattle (🏠). Across the season, I played open-to-closes, late night after hours sets, tea dances, day parties, music festivals, main stages, street fairs, beach clubs, openers, closers, peak times, and more. This was a great opportunity to flex my ‘sonic range,’ and it was a total blast!! Whether it was a feel-good, sun-soaked day party ☀️ or a late-night, driving, mischievous dance floor 😈 I loved setting the tone and feeding the mood 😎

🎢 NGL, the summer season wasn’t easy. Just landing sets in general is a huge grind to start with, and it began far ahead of the season. Then, while in it, there were moments where it was super hectic keeping up with everything: juggling everything needed to properly DJ (set prep, practice, logistics, etc.), staying on top of other nightlife hustles, and keeping up with my day job was A LOT at times. I absolutely loved traveling across summer and am grateful that I was able to, but it throws a wrench in many different things. A lot of time is lost in transit, gym/diet/sleep consistency is extra tough, and I missed almost every PNW summer weekend. My suitcase often just sat in my living room, I’d often pack while practicing, and I’d start RekordBox exports before Zoom calls 🙃

That last paragraph might make it sound like I’m complaining, but I don’t see it that way. I wanted to be real about the challenges so I could wrap this up by saying that the positives easily outweigh them. I absolutely LOVE being able to touch people in the way DJing can, and I’m so grateful for where it has taken me. Truly, thank you, all of you 🙏🥰

📸 extra summer shots from outside of the booth ❤️—— With Seattle’s rainy season kicking all the way in this weekend and a somewhat ‘forced’ slowdown due to a couple of show cancellations, I’ve been spending some time reflecting on a summer that I’m sooo grateful for. New friends were made, bonds with current friends were deepened, and I got to experience new horizons 🙏 A LOT of good times were had. It was really f’ing cool to make so many meaningful connections and have some real a$$ conversations with people ❤️

Something I constantly think about is how unstable my collective professional life feels and what a wild ride it’s been to keep it together. As some may have seen in other posts, I used to have a very stable, fairly well-compensated job, but it was making me so unhappy that I would finish days with headaches and anger, and it was impacting my relationships outside of work. When I got a layoff notice (because corpo doesn’t care about you, FR), it was the gentle nudge that I needed to try something different.

I absolutely LOVE to travel and explore, and something I [maybe misplaced] lament about my stable, decent-paying job, and the ability it afforded me, was to do so. However, grinding on something I’m truly passionate about: music and DJ’ing, has brought me to a position where I am now seeing more places than my hated former day job ever could. It’s so wild to put that in perspective. There are a lot of things I can’t afford at the moment (and TBH, it does get to me), but I’m sooo grateful that DJ’ing has brought me to a place where I can do one of the things I love most - adventure. THANK YOU soooo much to everyone that has made this happen - promoters, venues, patrons, friends, and everyone in between. It means A LOT ❤️❤️

Playing in Atlanta for the first time as Kink Down South’s main event headliner was truly something special 🤘 I first got connected with the organizers as they were just launching the event, and there was a lot of interest in working together, but it didn’t make sense until what it has grown into this year. I’ve watched the event grow from afar, and knowing how much heart gets poured into it, it was a HUGE honor to get invited to play at the biggest venue they’ve held their closing event at, The Masquerade. It was suuuch a rad time throwing down for this crowd and fueling some rowdy energy 😈 Huge THANKS to David and Pup Urban for having me! I know how much work you guys put into the weekend, and it means a lot to me that you wanted me to play such a cool role in it 🙏

Visiting Atlanta for the first time and attending the entire KDS weekend was such a great time as well! Atlanta is such a cool city with its own unique signature. I really enjoyed the food, the people, and especially enjoyed getting a little taste of its underground dance scene ❤️ KDS was also sooo great!! I’m sure this whole thing raises eyebrows for some, but let’s be real, we all have our ‘things’ we are into - it was pretty cool to be around people that are so honest about who they are. A lot of really meaningful conversations came out of the weekend across A LOT of topics - race, music, relationships, etc. It was truly a great time. Thank you to everyone that was involved!! Hopefully it’s not too long before I’m back in ATL 🍑

After hearing so much about it, I finally made a visit to Provincetown, MA, and what a way to do it: playing a suuuper fun set during the 48th annual Carnival for a very responsive crowd and supporting a guest performance for the queen kim petras 🤯 What a f’ing blast 💥!! BIG thanks to everyone that got down, and Crown & Anchor // The Tryst Provincetown // OLLYWOOD for the invite —- what a seriously rad time 🙏

With this being my first time on the Cape, Todd Allan joined me and we stuck around for a couple of extra days to get away ❤️ I now understand why so much of the LGBTQ+ community loves it; we had a blast taking it easy, catching friends, eating great food, and getting into a little trouble while tucking in at a reasonable hour (🤣 things end early there). Hopefully it’s not too long before we return!!

This trip also wraps up a really busy summer with shows in PHI, CHI, NYC, PVR, ATL, YVR, SFO, and all over SEA. Currently, I won’t leave Seattle for a set until October, and I’m not too mad about sitting my a** down for a bit. It was a GREAT way to finalé. I’ll have more to say about it in a separate post, but for now, I’d like to give a big thank you to everyone, everywhere that was involved 🥰 It kicked my a**, but I’m so grateful for everything and I don’t take it for granted. Truly, THANK YOU.

Greetings from Provincetown! We’ve been having a blast so far, and are coming to understand why so many people love this place. With Carnival happening (the parade was yesterday), it has been an absolute trip. Todd Allan and I are awful at getting into theme, but we loved seeing how much work people put into it and the great spirits it puts everyone in. This year’s theme was ‘Deep Sea Disco’ 🪩 We are currently enjoying a nice (expensive … 😭 one gripe about this place) brunch and doing some exploration before a set that is sure to be a wiiiild one. I was told A LOT of tickets have been sold to the show I’m playing at Crown & Anchor , featuring kim petras (!!!!!), so if you are here and planning on going, come early!! In any case, happy Saturday!!

Atlanta, how we doin’?! (J/K, I know the answer - hot, muggy, and sticky 🤣🥵). Really though, after a really rough day getting here (working on 4-separate hustles can brutal… finally had time to microwave lunch at 3PM, 6:30PM shower, 9:00PM to the airport), I’m stoked to say that I made it safely and been having a RAD time on my first visit here. I’m catching a pretty good vibe for how to set the tone tonight, so if you’re around, come to Kink Down South and boogie with me 😈🔊 Catch y’all soon 🫡
