Hello everyone! We have been blessed with many new followers here on Instagram and other social media platforms in 2025 so I thought I would take a moment to reintroduce myself and our business.

I'm Robert, proud owner of Payne Meadows. Since 2016, we have been on an incredible journey here at Payne Meadows building our property into the beautiful wedding & event venue it is today.

My dear parents, Ronnie & Linda Payne, helped me establish Payne Meadows in those early years. Following a full barn renovation, remodeling the farmhouse, and installing new bathrooms we have just been plugging along now for 10 years here in 2026....amazing!

As a public school teacher, husband, and father to three children (18, 17, 13), I balance teaching and farming with family life every day!

I began to fall in love with the process of beautifying Payne Meadows and took pride in making it look as best as I could. In 2023, I expanded my interests to include cultivating fresh cut flowers. That new venture was in the testing stages in 2023 & 2024 before going "all in" in 2025.

In 2025, we officially offered fresh cut flowers to the public thus embarking on a new journey in Agritourism here in North Carolina. We hosted 5 "U-Pick" Days here on the farm. The flower venture was a huge success!! In addition to our "U-Pick" days, we hosted 16 weddings on the property.

Our intentions are to continue expanding our offerings of fresh flowers and improving the property little by little each year. Who knows there might be some new residents on the property in the near future!!!

❤️Thank you to our community, family, and friends who came out and supported us at Payne Meadows this year.

Our first season of offering U-Pick flowers to the community was a huge success. We welcomed 325 guest to our farm over the five days we were open.

Rustic Wedding & Event Venue

Payne Meadows is owned and operated by Robert Payne and Linda Payne and our business was founded in 2016 and has hosted nearly 50 events in our brief history. We specialize in providing a beautiful country setting that includes our historic barn as a setting for rustic country weddings. We also enjoy providing that same setting for special parties that includes graduation parties, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, high school reunions, family reunions, anniversaries, birthday parties, to name a few. Our barn at Payne Meadows was built in the 1950s and then restored in 2013. It is surrounded by 38 acres of rolling pastures split in half by a cool running stream that twists and turns throughout the property and currently owned by Ronne and Linda Payne. The property has been in the family for over six generations. Our property consists of 38 acres of rolling pastures split in half by a cool running stream that twist and turns throughout the property. The property's elevated portions showcases beautiful mountainous views of western North Carolina for miles while overlooking the entire property. Our earliest known Payne heir first settled in the Hothouse community in 1853 on land given to Nehemiah Payne via North Carolina state land grants. We treasure our beautiful property and wish to share it with all who visit.
