“Wild Rides” past, present and future!

Good morning rodeo fans and Facebook peeps.  That’s the title of the just released theme for this year‘s Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo parade… this year’s rodeo parade will take place on Saturday July 19 at 10:30 AM on Mitchell‘s historic Main Street.

All houses of worship, Civic organizations, schools, businesses, political offices, scouts, clubs, fraternal organizations and of course, horse drawn, antique cars, tractors, fire trucks and much much more are welcome! There is no entry fee, but the sooner you contact us on our website and get your spot the better!

The 2025 Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo is located at beautiful Stampede Park north of the soccer fields and west of the airport here in Mitchell. Our community kickoff event will be Tuesday, July 15 at the rodeo grounds and our performances will be that following Thursday through Sunday.

Starting with our Extreme Bulls on Thursday and regular performances that Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Don’t forget about cowboy church Sunday morning, and of course, the traditional chili cook off and family fun day before the last performance that night!

Come one, come all let’s stirrup some fun! Nothing but broncs, bulls and buckaroos. Hope to see you there!

Not a mosquito in sight and it’s 20° here in Mitchell. The Arena at Stampede Park is quiet with a fresh dusting of snow, but that doesn’t mean that the committee isn’t actively getting ready for next years rodeo.

So every year the committee sends a group to the PRCA convention in Las Vegas during National Finals Rodeo. Not only do we look for future specialty acts, barrelman and bull fighters but we are always looking to make our rodeo better.

Learning from other rodeos and listening to guest speakers addressing numerous issues, in breakout sessions is how we grow. This year we were very fortunate to be chosen to be one of the rodeos to speak on facility upgrades and rodeo finance with representatives from Cheyenne Frontier Days and Ogden Pioneer Days.

Just because it’s not 100° with 90% humidity and it’s not the third week in July doesn’t mean there isn’t activity out at the Arena at Stampede Park! Our sewer/water project is in full swing!

We just wanted to say thank you to everybody that was involved with the rodeo this year. It was an undertaking that had its ups and downs, challenges, expectations, goals and eventually it came to fruition! And in a big way. looking forward to the 54th annual Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo.

Well, it’s been over a week now since the Corn Palace stampede rodeo parade took place in beautiful and historic downtown Mitchell South Dakota, and if it wasn’t enough, that thousands and thousands of people came down to enjoy the fire tracks, floats, tractors, old cars, clowns, and all that takes place during the parade.

There were some behind-the-scenes people that I would like to think that I didn’t previously mentioned

The Corn Palace Stampede rodeo parade couldn’t happen without the obvious support of the community, hard-working committee members and of course the parade entries and the spectators!

Thanks to the City Of Mitchell‘s public safety and streets divisions, the worlds only Corn Palace, the Mitchell Chamber of Commerce, Scoreboard, Zestos, S*M Printing, Daylight Donuts and Reclamation Ranch.

As our committee finalizes our cleanup operations, tidying up and making plans for our next project at our new venue the Arena at Stampede Park, we reflect back on what is and what was our dream.
