Miami Parks' Little Haiti Cultural Complex Partners with Barry University Students for National Day of Service Project
(Miami, FL - January 24, 2025) - To celebrate National Day of Service, Miami Parks’ Little Haiti Cultural Complex (LHCC) is excited to announce a collaborative landscape beautification project with the Parks Operations division and Barry University students. The event will take place on January 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex.
This community-driven initiative aims to enhance the beauty and vibrancy of the facility, which serves as a cultural hub for the Little Haiti neighborhood. Volunteer students from Barry University will join Miami Parks’ team to help revitalize the grounds by planting flowers, shrubs, and performing general landscaping tasks to improve the overall appearance of LHCC.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Barry University students to honor National Day of Service,” said Chris Evans, City of Miami Parks Director. “This project is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to our community while promoting environmental stewardship and beautification in the heart of Little Haiti."
Chairwoman and District 5 Commissioner Christine King added, “My heart is full seeing my alma mater engage with our community by bringing beautiful landscapes into our neighborhood and making National Day of Service a genuine celebration.”
“I must confess, my friends, the road ahead will not always be smooth. There will still be rocky places of frustration and meandering points of bewilderment. There will be inevitable setbacks here and there. … Difficult and painful as it is, we must walk on in the days ahead with an audacious faith in the future.”- Martin Luther King,Jr.
Whatever you do today and beyond, WALK ON!
We love you!
