The moment floral designers have nightmares about - the bride’s signature flower is unavailable.
Who would’ve thought that the shipment of birds of paradise coming to Miami would be stuck in USDA inspection? Every day that week, I went to the wholesalers, and there was nothing. The birds of paradise they did have were damaged and were nowhere near the amount I needed. This particular bride wanted her bouquet made entirely of birds of paradise—a beautiful design that I was looking forward to executing. Fast forward to the day before the wedding, and I had to let the bride know. This is why I love my clients so much. Not only was she understanding, but she also gave me the creative freedom to design a bouquet specifically for her. To my surprise, she loved her bouquet so much that she told me it was better than the original design.
When things like this happen, I have to remind myself that my clients choose me for a reason. I tend to overthink and obsess, and it’s not until I calm the voices in my head and allow myself to be free that I design my best.
Thank you, Demi, for trusting me. It made my entire month to see you walk down the aisle with that bouquet, and I’m so glad you loved it.
