Morgan and Layne wanted a classic reception tent that fit right into their private estate wedding without blending into the background.

Mahaffey’s recommendation? The Sailcloth Tent.

Set up on the soccer field Layne grew up playing on, the Sailcloth Tent turned a field of memories into a grand ballroom, tiled dance floor and all.

Sage greens ran through the bridesmaid dresses and the ceremony setting alike, while tailored seating and ivory florals filled out a reception that felt polished but never staged.

Ann Ragan and Kevin McCaffrey had been picturing their wedding for a long time, and at Memphis Botanic Garden, every detail brought their dream to life.

The final Live at the Garden show of 2026 just wrapped, and Kool & the Gang, along with Patti LaBelle, brought the whole lawn to its feet.

Mahaffey provided over 300 tables and 3,000 chairs that covered the grass in front of the Radians Amphitheater stage, where colleagues caught up before the music started, and friends pulled up chairs to share a night out under the stars.

By the time the lights dimmed, nobody was thinking about how any of these summer shows came together, which means we did our job right.

What are Mahaffey's President, Daniel Smith, and Chief Operating Officer, Thomas Trankle, most looking forward to in our new warehouse? "Everything all under one roof," says Thomas.

For years, Mahaffey has operated out of two separate warehouses totaling 80,000 square feet. Come this fall, we're breaking ground on our new home at 4505 Old Lamar Avenue, where everything will be stored under one roof in a 100,000-square-foot space.

Here's to new beginnings that are built on the same quality you've counted on since 1924. In the meantime, we’re still up and running at 4985 Outland Center Drive.

Some weddings happen on a venue's lawn. This one happened on family land - under an oak tree Maddie's parents planted years ago, in front of a cross her father built with his own hands.

Surrounded by generations of history at Maddie's family home, Maddie and Joe hosted their guests on the front lawn, where our Sailcloth Tent, decked in lush florals and the glow of soft candlelight, set the stage for a garden party reception.
