Science, community and civic recognition come together at the Renasant Convention Center and The Cannon Center for the Performing Arts this week.

SERMACS 2026 brings the chemistry community to Memphis for five days of discovery and collaboration, while the City of Memphis Ovation Awards recognize the people and departments serving our city at the Cannon Center.

On Thursday, the Memphis Hope Summit invites the community to spend the day connecting, learning and exploring how hope can help strengthen Memphis and Shelby County.

Ending October with good food, a good cause and a whole lot of classic rock.

On Thursday, the Monogram Foods “Meat” Me in Memphis Annual Gala returns to the Renasant Convention Center for an evening of food, music and philanthropy benefiting the Monogram Foods Loves Kids Foundation.

Then Friday, Pure Prairie League, The Atlanta Rhythm Section and FIREFALL take the stage at the The Cannon Center for the Performing Arts for a night of classic rock favorites from the ’70s and ’80s.

Big conversations, a night at the opera and a full day of competition are on the calendar this week.

October 20–23, we're welcoming Cities United for its 13th Annual Convening, bringing together leaders, organizations and young people from across the country to exchange ideas, build partnerships and explore ways to strengthen communities.

On Saturday, the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Opera Memphis and Memphis Symphony Chorus come together for Rigoletto in Concert at the The Cannon Center for the Performing Arts.

Then on Sunday, the Universal Cheerleaders Association / Universal Dance Association Mid-South Regional brings cheer and dance teams from across the region to Memphis for a full day of competition.

We're looking forward to welcoming everyone to Memphis this week!

Breast cancer has touched the lives of so many, including our friends, families, and colleagues. Today is a reminder of the importance of early detection, continued awareness, and supporting those navigating a diagnosis.
