🎤 MHNY 2026 General Talent Show: Application Now Open!

Show off your talent at the Madison Hmong New Year 2026!

We're excited to bring back the General Talent Show this year, a fun, open showcase for community members of all ages to share their gifts on stage. Whether you sing, dance, play an instrument, do spoken word, comedy, or something totally unique, this is your moment to shine!

Please note: this is a showcase, not a competition. There will be no judging, scoring, or prizes, just a supportive stage to celebrate and share talent with the community.

📋 Details:

Spots Available: Only 9 spots available this year

Sign Up Basis: First come, first served. Once all 9 spots are filled, the application will close.

Cost: Free to sign up, no fees to participate

Time Limit: Maximum of 5 minutes per act

Need a little more time? An exception can be made for theatrical plays that showcase Hmong culture and community, which may require additional time. Please submit your application first, then reach out to us directly at [email protected] to discuss your time needs.

Who Can Apply: Open to all community members, solo acts, duos, or groups welcome

Come honor our elders, celebrate our ancestors’ journey, and pass our traditions on to the next generation, with traditional music, vibrant dance, and the pride of our people as we build new memories together as one community! 💜💛

Dancers, can you honor your dad in less than 3 sentences? We are gifting wristbands to the entire Dance Dads of one lucky team. Honor your dad, win for the whole team!

How to enter:

1. Tell us how your dad supports your dance journey in 3 sentences with a photo of you & your dad.
2. Do NOT name your dance team
3. Eligibility: Must be a dancer on a currently registered 2026 roster.

Host by dance coordinator. Story will be selected by MHNY President and VP. If your story is selected, every registered dad on your team will get wristbands for both days.
