Love was in the air at our celebration for Chuck McCann. Hollywood Party showed several kinescope sequences from Chuck’s daytime kids show and a rare McCann narrated edition of Jimmy Parrott in Post No Bills which were interspersed as we screened Blotto, Perfect Day, Edgar Kennedy in Happy Tho Married and the Chuck Jones classic A Bear For Punishment. All the prints came from Chuck’s film archive. A fun evening with a great group of attendees. See you in October.

To get you into the mood for Thursday’s Big Show, here is a rare clip from Chuck on WNEW Channel 5 in New York that has recently been preserved.

It’s gonna be “Chuck A Muck” or a screening “Chuck Filled”. However you say it, our next Hollywood Party get together will be very special.

All the films we Weill screen were part of his film collection. Gorgeous prints of Laurel and Hardy and clips from Chuck McCann’s shows.

In remembrance of the anniversary of Stan Laurel’s birth, here is an extremely rare photograph of him celebrating his birthday on the Hal Roach Studios Lot with Harry Langdon, Oliver Hardy and Lois Laurel. This was taken during production of “A Chump At Oxford”. The original photo is in the collection of friend and Langdon archivist Nicole Arciola.

We will have a special raffle and Silent Auction at our June 18th. meeting. Be sure to bring Cash as there will be some one of a kind items. See the photos.
As announced, every film screened comes from the collection of our dear friend and one of the founders of the Sons Of The Desert, Chuck McCann. We will run film prints that were among the first one projected at the very beginning of our organization. From his final years, through Chuck, his wife Betty and daughters, up until a few days ago, Chuck's film archive was graciously given to Hollywood Party Grand Sheik Stan Taffel.

With the last cache of his films now archived and catalogued and now that the home his family owned for fifty years has now been sold, it seems appropriate to honor our friend and member of our tent by presenting a collection of films he loved and we do as well.

In addition, we will have on display, original artifacts from his personal collection.
