The little details that make a party feel elevated...
..without blowing the budget.

Right now, I'm loving:

✨ Taper candles for instant ambiance
🤍 Layered table linens that add depth and texture
🍽️ Chargers that frame each place setting beautifully
🥂 Real glassware instead of disposable cups
🩶 Fabric napkins for a polished, thoughtful touch
✨ Gold flatware that instantly makes every table feel a little more special

The secret to a luxurious-looking table isn't spending more—it's layering intentional details that make guests feel like you've thought of everything.

Which one of these makes the biggest difference to you?

📌 Pinterest vs. Reality

The beautiful floral centerpiece...

vs.

Me, questioning every life decision that led me to floral foam. 😂

These flower disco balls were for my sweet friend's "She's Bringing 60 Back" surprise birthday party, and let's just say...

✨ They took WAY more flowers than I expected.
✨ Floral foam and I are no longer on speaking terms.
✨ They were not as easy as Pinterest made them look.

No florist was harmed in the making of these centerpieces... because I know my limits. 😅

One thing I've learned as a party planner? Not everything has to be DIY.

Sometimes I love creating something myself, and sometimes the best decision is handing my Pinterest board to a talented florist or vendor and saying, "Can you work your magic?"

The goal isn't to do it all yourself.
The goal is to create something beautiful.

(But I still think these turned out pretty cute. 🪩🌸)

🥂 Hostess Era | What Guests Really Remember

Here's a little secret...

Your guests probably won't remember where the flowers came from, what brand your plates were, or whether every detail was picture-perfect.

But they will remember...

🤍 How welcome they felt the moment they walked through the door.
🤍 The conversations that made them laugh until their cheeks hurt.
🤍 The thoughtful little touches that made them feel seen.
🤍 The feeling of being gathered around a table where they belonged.

That's the kind of entertaining I strive for.

Yes, I love a beautiful tablescape. I love the linens, the candles, the flowers, and all the details that make a celebration feel special. But those things simply set the stage.

The real magic happens when people connect.

At the end of the day, hospitality isn't about impressing your guests...

It's about making them feel at home.

✨ What's one thing you remember most about a gathering you've attended?

A beautiful color palette is often where every event begins for me. It sets the mood, inspires the details, and brings the entire design together. These are the combinations I'm loving right now:

💙 Blue & Yellow – Fresh, cheerful, and perfect for garden parties.

⚓ Navy & White – A forever favorite. Classic, timeless, and effortlessly elegant.

🌸 Pink & Green – Playful, feminine, and made for brunches, showers, and spring celebrations.

🤎 Terracotta & Blush – Warm, romantic, and full of charm.

🌿 Natural Wood & Sage Green – Organic, relaxed, and perfect for gatherings that feel both elevated and inviting.

I may love a good trend, but I'm always drawn back to color palettes that feel timeless and can be reimagined season after season.

Which one is your favorite? Or is there a color combination you're loving right now?

📌 Pinterest vs. Reality

The elegant charcuterie board...

vs.

Three trips to Sam's Club.
One forgotten ingredient.
And wondering if you actually have enough crackers. 😅

Here's a little secret: Pinterest isn't always DIY.

Some of the most beautiful parties come together because you know when to call in the experts. I send my vendors inspiration boards all the time, and they take those ideas and turn them into something even better than I imagined.

You don't have to do it all yourself to create something beautiful.

The magic is knowing your vision... and building the right team to bring it to life.

✨ Beautiful entertaining isn't about doing everything yourself—it's about creating an experience your guests will never forget.

What's one party detail you'd happily leave to a professional?

🥂 Hostess Era | My Signature Entertaining Style

If my friends had to describe my hosting style, I have a feeling they'd all say the same thing...

"She's always a bit extra." 🤍

And honestly? They're probably right.

Simple has never come naturally to me. I love layered tables, beautiful linens, candlelight, fresh flowers, and all the little details that make people feel celebrated. If there's an opportunity to add one more thoughtful touch, I'm probably going to take it.

For me, entertaining isn't about showing off—it's about showing people they're worth the effort.

Life gives us plenty of ordinary days. Why not make a few of them feel extraordinary?

✨ And if you've noticed I've become a little obsessed with table settings lately... you're absolutely right. I'll tell you more about my newest obsession on Wednesday. 😉

How would your friends describe your hosting style?

If there's one thing that never goes out of style for me, it's navy. 💙

And this blue French toile pattern? I'm completely obsessed.

I first styled it for the Fourth of July, but honestly... I couldn't bear to pack it away. I simply swapped out the patriotic touches, and it's still gracing my dining room.

That's what I love about investing in timeless pieces. With just a few small changes, they transition beautifully from one season to the next.

Beautiful entertaining doesn't always mean buying something new. Sometimes it's just seeing your favorite pieces in a fresh way.

Do you have a decorating piece you'll never get tired of?

✨ Pinterest vs. Reality ✨

Everyone sees the finished event...

The beautiful tables.
The perfectly styled details.
The polished photos.

But what they don't see are the weeks of Pinterest boards, shopping trips, vendor calls, ribbon everywhere, stacks of boxes, late nights, and a workroom that looks like organized chaos.

These photos are from a corporate event I designed back in February with my "day job" at Shale Energy Resources, and let me tell you... so much planning went into bringing that vision to life.

That's the part I actually love.

Because every beautiful event—whether it's a corporate gala, birthday party, or backyard dinner—is created long before the first guest walks through the door.

✨ Every beautiful party starts with organized chaos... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

What's one behind-the-scenes part of entertaining that people never think about?

✨ Welcome to My Hostess Era 🥂

Who says the beautiful dishes have to stay in the cabinet until a holiday?

One of my favorite things is setting a table simply because it's Tuesday. A pretty table, candlelight, cloth napkins, fresh flowers, or your favorite dishes can turn an ordinary meal into a memory.

Celebration doesn't have to wait for birthdays, anniversaries, or special occasions. Sometimes the most meaningful moments happen around the dinner table on an otherwise ordinary evening.

Life is busy. Gathering the people you love—even for takeout or a simple family dinner—is always worth making feel a little more special.

✨ What's something worth celebrating this week? Tell me in the comments—I love finding reasons to celebrate the everyday.

✌️ She’s Bringing 60 Back! 🌼

I’m so excited to finally share all the photos from this special celebration!

When my sweet friend turned 60, we knew a traditional party just wouldn’t do. Instead, we celebrated with a fun twist—a 1960s-inspired surprise party that was full of color, peace, love, flowers, and groovy details. It was the perfect way to celebrate someone who brings so much joy to everyone around her.

From the custom décor and vibrant tablescape to the flowers, retro touches, and all the little details in between, this party was such a joy to design and style. Seeing her smile as she walked into the room made every minute of planning worth it.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration so memorable, and especially to the guest of honor for letting me be a small part of such a milestone birthday.

Happy 60th! Here’s to celebrating life, friendship, and making every birthday one to remember. ✌️💖

If you’re dreaming up a celebration of your own—whether it’s a birthday, shower, anniversary, or dinner party—I would love to help bring your vision to life.
