REVISION TO SUMMER SCHEDULES
Racers,
We have important updates to the 2026 Burning Soles & Summer Series schedules.
Due to an unexpected staffing change, we are no longer able to support the full 8-week series as originally planned. This is not the outcome we wanted, yet our priority has to remain the same: making sure every race is organized, properly staffed, and run to the standards our racers expect.
Updated Schedule:
Week 1 β June 3 & June 4
No change - already complete
Week 2 β June 10 & June 11
No change - already complete
Week 3 β moved to June 24 & June 25
Originally June 17 & June 18
Week 4 β moved to July 8 & July 9
Originally June 24 & June 25
Week 5 β moved to July 15 & July 16
Originally July 22 & July 23
Week 6 β July 29 & July 30
No change
Week 7 β August 5 & August 6
No change β this will now be the final week of the series
Week 8 β Cancelled
This is not a full time gig, our team each has careers outside as well. Unfortunately with the staff change we no longer have the personnel to hold events when other members had pre-planned travel for work.
We have chosen to make week 7 the end of the series because of additional schedule conflicts and local schools starting the week of August 10β14. These changes also mean that the previously planned rain dates are no longer available. The dates listed above are now the remaining race dates for this yearβs series.
This decision hurts... a lot. In 14 years of hosting the DFW Series, this is the first time we have ever had to cancel or change race dates for a reason other than weather/trail conditions.
I know schedule changes create frustration and inconvenience, and I truly appreciate everyoneβs patience and understanding. Our goal remains the same: to put on local, accessible and family friendly events for our trail loving communities.
If dates no longer work, or if you just want refunds based on these changes, we understand and are happy to oblige. Please request via email only, messages via social media channels often get lost.
Thank you for continuing to support the DFW Series.
Sincerely,
Shawn McAfee
