Congrats M&R! This lovely couple had their license signed in advance of a future ceremony. We met at a local coffee place for their convenience. SCAM WARNING ABOUT WEBSITE PHOTOS

Head's up. A German company called COPYTRACK (RD Legal GmbH) approached *twice* regarding a *FALSE* CLAIM OF COPYRIGHT by their client, CONCEPT-PRODUCTION. They cited an image and claimed to be the copyright holder, demanded proof of licensure, or in its absence demanded backpay for use and the option for future licensing.

The image in question has its copyright held by a completely different person, and is posted publicly along with the terms for royalty fee use. A SECOND email to COPYTRACK with proof was needed, with my lawyer CC'd in case a real C&D was actually necessary. This contained a stern advisory that abetting a fraudulent claim and seeking over $1000.00 constituted grand larceny in my jurisdiction. Further, the use of internet communications constituted potential Federal wire violations.

After the second email I received a response noting "Please be advised that COPYTRACK (RD Legal GmbH) is no longer acting on behalf of CONCEPT-PRODUCTION in this matter."

This company and this claim on behalf of this client is evidently known in Europe. An internet search quickly turns up this repeated scam effort across the EU and UK.

Heres' the takeaway if this company tries to pull their scam on you. Be sure you (and/or your web designers) have "receipts" for the rights to your web imagery, and push back HARD against them.

Congratulations! "Day of" officiant services for John and Catherine at their home in Reston on Friday was lovely. A family member officiated at their ceremony in Loudoun the next day. A toast of some really excellent champagne was the perfect way to celebrate!
