Are your relationships working for both sides?

Rule VI is about managing relationships like a business deal. Every relationship: work, personal, business, family, requires real management. You have to see things from both perspectives and realize that whatever you're working on needs to work for all parties involved.

No one owes you anything, not even your family members.

Treat every relationship like a business deal: make sure everybody is getting what they need out of it. Set clear expectations, communicate openly, and check in regularly to be sure the relationship is still working for both sides.

When you approach relationships this way, you protect your energy, avoid drama, and build real partnerships in every area of your life.

Where is your money going?

Rule V is about taking control of your money. If you want financial stability in the future, you have to take control of your money now. The numbers don't lie, over 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, and nearly half can't cover a $500 emergency without borrowing.

Money isn't just something you earn and spend. It's a resource that creates opportunities. When you treat money as an asset to be accumulated and put to work, you build options and freedom for yourself and your family.

Every dollar should have a job. Track your spending, build a plan, and make your money work for you, not the other way around. The sooner you shift from consumer to builder, the sooner you'll start stacking chips and gaining control over your financial future.

How are you spending your time?

Rule IV is about taking control of your time through the Four Quadrants. Not all time is created equal.

Green S**t: Urgent and important. This is your committed work, what's on your calendar, what's making you money right now. Green S**t gets your attention first.

Blue S**t: Important but not urgent. Your bucket list. Everything you want out of life belongs here. If it ain't in this bucket, F**ket.

Orange S**t: Urgent but not important to you. Say "no" at least three times before you even consider it.

Brown S**t: Drama and negative energy. The first s**t you need to eliminate from your life.

Master these quadrants, and your calendar, and your life will start working for you.

What standard are you willing to accept?

Rule III is about defining the quality of life you want for yourself and your family and never compromising on it. This isn't just about money; it's about the environment you create, the values you uphold, and the quality of life you demand.

It takes real fortitude to hold the line. You must be willing to put in the effort, discipline, and willpower to stay focused on what's necessary to maintain this new standard of existence.

When challenges come and they will, your standard is what keeps you anchored. Don't let setbacks or outside opinions shake your resolve.

What lines won't you cross?

Rule II is about knowing yourself at a deeper level. Self-awareness isn't just about strengths and weaknesses—it's about knowing what you'll fight for and what you won't, what lines you refuse to cross, and what truly matters to you.

Being true to yourself is the foundation of everything else. If you're not honest about who you are, what you value, and where you draw the line, you're flying blind.

Stay grounded. Check your motives. Never compromise your core values.

Where are you really starting from?

Rule I is about getting brutally honest with yourself. You can't move forward if you don't know where you're starting from.

Take stock of your time, money, skills, and relationships. No excuses, just facts. And don't skip the emotional check-in—how do you feel about what you just summarized? Your mindset and emotions are part of the equation.

This is the foundation. Everything else builds on this.

Know yourself before you try to grow. Most people skip this step. That’s why they stay stuck.

Self-awareness means knowing your strengths, your weak spots, and your non-negotiables. If you don’t get honest about who you are, you’ll keep chasing things that don’t fit.

Check your motives today. Get clear on what matters.

Ready to call your own bluff? Drop a 👀 if you’re willing to look in the mirror. That's where the real progress starts.

You can’t level up if you don’t know where you’re at.

Most people avoid this step because it requires honesty.
Not the fake kind. The real kind.

Where is your money really going?
How are you actually spending your time?
Who are you surrounding yourself with—and are they helping or hurting you?

And here’s the part people skip…

How do you feel about it?

If you’re frustrated, tired, stuck… good. That means you’re paying attention.

No excuses. No stories. Just facts.

Because once you see it clearly… now we can fix it.

These aren't motivational platitudes. They're a system. A framework built on discipline, accountability, and real-world results.

If you've been following along, you know what this is about: building a life that actually works. Not someday. Now.

Starting May 1, 2026, I'm taking on a limited number of clients as a performance-focused life coach. This isn't group coaching or generic advice. This is one-on-one work with people who are serious about applying Uncle Rob's Rules to their actual situation, their actual goals, and their actual life.

We'll work through your assessment, your standards, your time and money, your relationships, and your direction. We'll build systems that stick. We'll hold you accountable. And we'll get results.

If you're interested in working together, reach out. Tell me what you're working toward and why it matters.

The rules are free. The coaching is earned. DM for info.

Uncle Rob's Rule X: Enjoy the Ride

Enjoying the ride is the ultimate pitch for living by Uncle Rob's Rules. If you don't enjoy your life, why live it? The purpose of life can't be to be miserable, stressed, pi**ed, or grouchy. That's not living, that's just surviving.

Life should be worth it. You should aim to reach the end with no regrets. Take all the chances you feel comfortable with and explore every interest you have. Everything on this earth isn't for you, but everything you're willing to put in the work for is. So work hard and enjoy the ride.

You put in the work, you build the systems, you chase growth and opportunity, but at the end of the day, it's about fulfillment. It's about waking up with purpose and going to bed with peace. If you're not taking time to laugh, connect, and do what you love, you're missing the point.

Here's what matters:
• Take time to celebrate wins, big and small
• Spend time with people who matter
• Do things that bring you joy and energy
• Don't postpone living for some future moment
• Laugh more than you worry
• Remember why you started

Uncle Rob's Rules are about building a life you actually want to live, not just endure. So handle your business, keep your standards high, and don't forget to enjoy the damn ride.

That's what makes it all worth it.

That's Rule X.

Uncle Rob's Rule IX: Reassess Your Situation Regularly

Reassessing your situation regularly is essential. Life doesn't stand still, neither should you. As things change, so do your priorities. As you grow, the things you strive for will change too. That's why it's critical to check in with yourself, your goals, and your environment on a consistent basis.

According to a study by Harvard Business Review, people who reflect and reassess their goals regularly are more likely to achieve them and adapt successfully to change. Major life events, new opportunities, and even setbacks all require you to pause, reevaluate, and adjust your direction. If you don't, you risk chasing goals that no longer serve you, or missing out on new paths that could take you further.

Schedule regular check-ins, monthly, quarterly, or whenever you hit a major milestone. Ask yourself: What's changed? What's working? What needs to go? This habit keeps you aligned, focused, and ready for whatever's next.

Here's what matters:
• Schedule monthly or quarterly check-ins with yourself
• Review your goals and priorities honestly
• Assess what's working and what's not
• Be willing to pivot when circumstances change
• Celebrate wins, learn from losses
• Adjust your direction without shame or regret

The best plans are the ones you're willing to change.

Stay flexible. Stay aware. Stay ahead.

That's Rule IX.

Uncle Rob's Rule VIII: Invest in Personal Growth

Personal growth isn't optional, it's a must. If you want to be successful and stay successful, you have to keep growing. The world is changing faster than ever. With AI, automation, and new technology rolling out every year, the pace isn't slowing down. In fact, it's only speeding up.

Consider this: over 50% of today's jobs require some degree of digital skill, and the World Economic Forum predicts that by 2030, more than a billion people will need to reskill just to keep up with workplace changes. If you don't keep up, you won't keep up. That's a fact.

You have to stay relevant. Read, ask questions, seek mentors, and push yourself to level up, personally and professionally. The moment you stop growing is the moment you start falling behind. In life, you start dying the day you stop growing. That's just how it is.

Here's what matters:
• Commit to learning something new every month
• Find mentors who are ahead of you
• Read books, listen to podcasts, take courses
• Ask questions, curiosity is a skill
• Apply what you learn immediately
• Teach others what you know

Growth isn't a destination. It's a lifestyle.

Stay hungry. Stay sharp. Stay relevant.

That's Rule VIII.
