Post 1 of a few from this Manursing Island wedding, because there is way too much to fit into one post.

Starting with the ceremony, and one of the things we think about constantly when designing wedding florals: photoability.

We wanted the ceremony to feel completely immersed in flowers without simply adding florals everywhere. Every placement was intentional. Lush white and soft blue garden florals framed the aisle, surrounded the couple at the altar, and created floral moments exactly where they would have the most impact in photographs.

Because ceremony design isn’t just about what the space looks like when guests arrive. We’re thinking about where the couple will stand, where they’ll walk, the photographer’s sightlines, what will frame the first kiss, and how the florals will appear behind them from different angles.

The layout plays just as much of a role in the final photos as the flowers themselves.

2026 + 2027 couples, event clients & our favorite vendor friends, this one’s for you.

We’re currently booking 2026 + 2027 weddings and events, and for a limited time, we’re giving clients referred to us by our vendor partners a little something extra.

Book with The Flower Bar by January 1st and receive:

Weddings: A complimentary bridal bouquet (average $285 value) + groom’s boutonnière ($30 value), for $315 in complimentary florals. (Or equal value).

Events of $4,300+: Receive $315 toward your florals.

Events of $1,400+: Receive $100 toward your florals.

For our weddings, we also try to include complimentary loose/detail flowers for your photographer’s flat lays and simple floral accents for your wedding cake whenever possible.

For our planners, venues, photographers & fellow vendors: this isn’t a commission or complicated referral program. It’s our way of giving your clients something extra for coming our way while continuing to build relationships with the people we share events with. And the referrals absolutely go both ways.

This design leans into the beautiful shift from late summer into early fall, where soft peach tones meet deeper berry, plum, and burgundy hues for a richer, moodier palette. Specialty blooms are layered with airy greenery for a garden-gathered feel that still feels elevated and refined. This one came together fast, but in the best, most intentional way.
From the very first conversations, the floral direction was rooted in contrast: bold red poppies, soft whites, and that loose, just-picked wildflower energy. As the design developed, we leaned further into the season itself… layering in warmth, texture, and late-summer tones that felt more and more like the landscape around us. The addition of specialty sunflowers ended up being such a defining moment in the palette, grounding everything in a way we didn’t expect but absolutely loved.

Set along the Hudson River, the final design felt like it belonged there all along; airy chamomile, poppies, dahlias, and sunflowers woven together in a way that felt natural, unforced, and full of movement.

The ceremony florals stayed low and organic, framing the couple without ever competing with the view, while golden hour did its thing in the background. At the reception, those same tones carried through every detail, from the bud vases to the candlelight.

A four-week design window means a lot of quick decisions, trust, and collaboration and we’re so grateful to have been part of this one with such an incredible team. Huge thank you to Jenna & Amalia of The Butterfly Effect Weddings 🦋 | Wife & Wife Wedding Planners for bringing us into the mix. 🤍

There’s something especially satisfying about watching a ceremony installation come together, starting with an empty arbor in the sand and ending with layers of lush greenery and soft blush + ivory florals framing the Long Island Sound.

Designed right on the beach at Orienta Beach Club , we wanted the flowers to feel like they belonged there: romantic, organic, a little wild, and beautiful from every angle without competing with that view.
