When clients give me full control over colors and design, I seek out florals in bloom from local farmers. Most wedding flowers come from South America which leaves a heavy carbon footprint from the airfreight. Choosing local supports small business and is better for the earth!

So exciting to partner with on this weekends wedding. I was able to cut fresh, rich fall blooms of zinnia, cosmos, amaranthus, poppy, and stock. Stay tuned for design pics!

The sky dried up just in time for the S W E E T E S T Couple to have their D R E A M wedding in their own backyard. It is absolutely all about the D E T A I L S for this summer soiree. During all the planning meetings, an emphasis was placed on the wedding being a chic, but fun party for everyone attending. With everyone just coming off of a very restricted year, this wedding was a symbol of new beginnings in so many ways. Congratulations, C and P! I loved working with Melanie on the design of her bouquet. After coming up with a color palette, she gave me creative liberty on the rest!

Also, if you haven't heard, there is a gem of a venue in Plano called The Homestead 1854. It is the perfect spot for intimate gatherings! They have on site rooms for your closest family and friends, an outdoor ceremony spot and a stunning reception area - not to mention a super knowledgeable owner on site to help with your event details!

I just booked another wedding at The Joinery this year! I am stoked. It is such a unique venue perfect for the boho-chic couple.

With an onsite Airbnb for the couple, a private speak-easy for the bridal party to gather, rustic wooden tables and beautiful chairs all included, you can't go wrong! I think some of the biggest perks of The Joinery are bringing in your own caterers and alcohol which could ultimately add up to huge cost savings!!

Remember that one beautiful day this past November when it was 67 degrees! Oh, how I miss being above a deep freeze. Lovely Tara and her bridesmaids strolled through Lincoln Park taking in every minute of the gorgeous fall day.
Later that evening, the weather was so perfect we even rolled back the pergola ceiling revealing an unforgettable view of the Sears Tower! I loved this wedding!

MEET NICOLE ALBANESE OF CITY CHIC EVENTS!

I have been asked over the years, do you just love what you do? The answer is UNDENIABLY YES! Where else would I get the opportunity to assist someone on the happiest day of their life? Planning weddings is definitely a gift, and I truly love getting to know each one of my couples.

My career path has led me to many different types of events from meetings to fundraisers to large scale events around the world. Although jetting around the world was a thrill, my heart really fell for weddings. The charge of seeing everything perfectly set-up, after all the detailed planning, never stops being amazing. Adjusting my bride's train before she heads down the aisle still gets me. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Seeing the look of pure joy on my couples' faces is 100% the reason I do what I do. I love checklists probably more than any person should be allowed.

When I am not planning for City Chic, you can find me sipping all the coffee, planning trips or dates nights, pinning kitchen reno pics, Netflixing, creating theme nights, baking all the quarantine things, hanging with my chocolate lab and the boys, planning photo shoots, playing in the snow, or taking Peloton classes.

Thanks to City Chic and my couples for allowing me to LOVE what I do everyday!

Wedding are never like work to me.

I used to be in the corporate world for a long time. It was an adventure to me back then because I got to travel around the world visiting new countries and "working."

However, when I am playing the role of planner at a wedding, its just pure FUN. I am so fortunate to have found something that brings so much joy. Sure there are days that are harder than others, but each couple, each venue, and each vendor team brings on a whole new sense of adventure right here in my own backyard of Chicago!
