The Folly Theater is a beautiful historic theater which first opened September 23, 1900 and has an amazing history! We are a 501 (c)(3) non profit organization.The Folly does not have it's own parking lot. There are also parking garages directly next to The Folly and across the street under Barney Allis Plaza between Central St and Wyandotte. We produce The Folly Jazz Series, Folly Kids Series and Cyprus Avenue Live at the Folly.

Beloved 98-year-old Kansas Citian and national cabaret icon, Marilyn Maye appeared 76 times on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, the record for appearances by a singer. He called her “Super-Singer”. Maye continues to perform throughout the United States in clubs and concert halls. For the past 19 years, she’s appeared in New York in the spring and fall at the prestigious nightclub 54 Below for 10 or more sold-out nights. Yearly engagements include Birdland, Dizzy’s at Jazz at Lincoln Center, 92nd Street Y, and various other venues. Since 2012, her twice a year/multiple night engagements are sold-out at the Purple Room in Palm Springs, Catalina’s in Hollywood, Crooner’s in Minneapolis, MIM Theater in Phoenix, and many other venues.
