MENTIONS OF SU***DE AND MENTAL HEATH STRUGGLES
(You habe been warned)
Thank you so much to for having me back again this year for HopeCon. It is such a blessing to still be here, able to talk about my struggles with my mental health and with su***de and my journey to better myself π₯°
I wouldn't be here without the love and support of my family and friends plus the diligent work of my doctors. I am eternally grateful to every single one of them as they continue to show me how much I would have missed if I had left this world when I did. They continue to teach me how to love and appreciation myself and be proud of what I have accomplished.
Mental health can be a very fragile thing and when you grow up being told you are "normal" in a household of diagnosed Autistic siblings where you end up the caretaker at a very young age, it makes being a teenager and an adult so much more difficult because you don't know or understand why you struggle to do the things you see your peers succeeding at. You feel like a failure at every turn because life looks easy to the people around you when you are struggling to keep your head above water.
I really hope that my speech at Hopecon this year helps reach the ears and hearts of some of those that are struggling and others that are not. All it takes is one person to turn everything around. A spark can fan into a flame with the right fuel.
Remember, you are loved, you are special and you are amazing, even if you don't feel like you are. Struggling is hard and it is real but I can prove to you it does get better. π₯°
Be kind to yourself, be kind to others and please drink some water π§
