Meet Trina A.! She's back for Season 44 after joining the volunteer team last year. She chose to volunteer because of her deep love of music, and has been an enthusiastic and kind team player, stepping in wherever needed. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities like kayaking and gardening.🌷

This exhilarating concert includes music from "Star Wars," "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," "E.T. The Extraterrestrial," and "Hook," as well as new music by Gala Flagello.🌟

We are once again amazed by the generosity of our local community during the Great Fish Community Challenge.💚

Over 136 donors contributed a collective $83,200 to GSOC, and with the Great Fish Match Grant of $19,000, that brings us to a total of $102,200! This exceeded our goals of 100 donors and $80,000 raised. 👏

Overall, the Great Fish Community Challenge raised $10,841,320, a record-breaking amount that will help shape the Flathead Valley in significant and meaningful ways through all 89 nonprofits.🌲

We are honored to live in a valley that is so invested in seeing others thrive, especially in arts and culture. As always, you make the music happen! 🎶

This one's for the KIDS! 🐺

Glacier Symphony is assembling its cast of musical animal characters for our Peter and the Wolf Halloween Special on October 31! This matinée special starts at 2 PM and is perfectly timed so that families can still enjoy their evening trick-or-treat adventures. 🎃🍬

Here's a little history about this suspenseful tale:

Natalya Sats, the director of the Central Children's Theatre in Moscow, commissioned Prokofiev to write a musical symphony for kids in 1936. The goal was to introduce kids to instruments in the orchestra and hopefully develop in them an interest in music. 🎶

Prokofiev crafted the piano version in under a week! The orchestration was finished nine days later and on May 2, it was debuted during a children's concert in the Moscow Conservatory.

Make sure you listen carefully for the cast of characters in different instruments!
Flute -> bird 🐦
Oboe -> duck 🦆
Clarinet -> cat 🐈
Bassoon -> grandfather 👴
French horns -> wolf 🐺
String quartet -> Peter 👦
Kettle and bass drums -> hunters firing💥
