Our Executive Assistant Claire had a chance to stop by Kenneth Warren and Son, Ltd. in Chicago and chat with Jim Warren, owner of the shop. A huge shout out and thank you for a long partnership as Gold Medal sponsors with the Stulberg; we couldn’t do what we do without your support and generosity. Fun fact: Jim’s grandfather worked closely with Esther Stulberg, husband of Julius Stulberg and founder of the Stulberg String Competition!

A huge congratulations to 2025 Gold Medalist Jinan Laurentia Woo on being selected as a 2025 Davidson Fellow!

Congratulations to 2025 Davidson Fellow Jinan Laurentia Woo! Jinan will receive a $50,000 scholarship for her music portfolio.

"My project is about how music has changed over time and why many classical musicians are still unsure about playing new music—and what that says about how we view tradition, creativity, and change."

Dear Valued Stulberg Supporters,

It is with a heart full of gratitude and a touch of bittersweet emotion that I write to inform you of my decision to step down from my role as Executive Director at the Stulberg International String Competition, effective July 25, 2025. I have accepted a new leadership opportunity within the nonprofit sector, and while I am excited for this next chapter, leaving Stulberg is a significant moment for me.

My tenure here has been an immense privilege, and I am particularly proud of the work we have accomplished together in championing young musicians. Witnessing the incredible talent, dedication, and growth of these exceptional artists has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my time. My deep love for supporting and nurturing these young individuals, helping them develop essential skills and prepare for their professional careers, has truly been a driving force throughout my journey at Stulberg. It has been a humble joy to be part of an organization that provides such vital performance and educational opportunities, and to see firsthand the profound impact our programs have on their lives and futures.

This organization thrives because of your unwavering dedication, generosity, and belief in our mission. I am deeply thankful for the trust you have placed in me and for your incredible support, which has made all our achievements possible.

I have every confidence in the Stulberg's continued success. The organization is in a strong position, with a dedicated board, talented staff, and a vibrant community of supporters. I look forward to watching its future growth and its continued legacy of enriching lives through music.
