Most people choose a venue based on how it will look. Experienced planners think about how it will move.

Layout determines the guest experience long before florals or decor are added. The difference between walking into a room that feels open and effortless versus one that feels tight and claustrophobic usually comes down to how the space was planned.

Both diagrams show the same type of room. In the first, the guest count was pushed into the space without considering flow. In the second, the layout was planned intentionally to allow for movement, sightlines, and service.

A room might technically fit the numbers. That does not mean it is the right space for the event.
