An LMS2 Moment.....❤️

This week has been a continuous reminder to continue to live outloud with confidence and truth. We have so many youth that are constantly watching us and we have no clue sometimes the impact simply our presence has.

My son Landon Spurlin started his week along with some of our other Diamond Scholars at the Indiana Black Expo Inc. Youth Entrepreneur Series (Y.E.S). In typical fashion, I planned to join but a small illness took me out the count. Not being able to attend actually showed me more than attendance potentially would have.

My son not only attended but he ended the program winning FIRST PLACE in the pitch competition!

Being a serial entrepreneur myself, his win confirmed even more for me...... I am absolutely doing something right. My son has successfully held a business on his own, WITH a team of approx five others for almost FOUR years that he started on his own with no knowledge originally to me. (I started questioning him where he was getting all this money from in 7th grade 👀😂)

His IBE win provided him access to an opportunity to attend the IBE Corporate Luncheon which brought him even more confidence in his future of entrepreneurship and creative arts. When youth see others who look like them doing the things they inspire to do, it reminds them that they can too!

Yesterday, Landon left the IBE Corporate Luncheon on cloud 9 from all the life spoke into him from everyone who came in his presence.

Today my son is on a solo flight to Howard University to join their summer Business Music Production Program for a week and gain even more towards his future.

His future is BRIGHT and it is even brighter from the village that has continued to live bright and loud around him.

Thank you to the village...... It truly takes a BIG one!

An LMS2 Moment.....

Todays government announcement almost stole my proud mommy moment.

Today, after two days of attending (IBE) Indiana Black Expo Inc Youth Entrepreneur Series (Y.E.S.) MY SON Landon Spurlin, an amazing 16 year old, HAPPY, ENERGETIC, INSPIRED BLACK MALE, won FIRST place with his team for the Y.E.S. Entrepreneur competition.

My son left that competition SO inspired, so proud and simply full of life knowing that his business he presented is possible, sustainable and can be successful with the right team and support.

How does he know this...?!?!
He has successfully ran his own business for FOUR years now!!

Let's now pay attention to the new passed government law TODAY....

**PHASE OUT MBE/WBE CONTRACTS

Even though this law has passed, this doesn't change what I know my son will continue to push towards and I will never let him waiver.

I will forever continue to encourage and support my son just like so many other young black entrepreneurs. THIS is where WE have to start being intentional. 💪🏽

I am SO proud of my son and even this will not change that moment. ❤️🫶🏽

Congrats to ALL those minority children who ARE and WILL BE amazing MINORITY BLACK OWN BUSINESSES!!!

WE SUPPORT YOU!

Lets start a NEW birthday trend.....

This year I had no "real" plans for my birthday, BUT, it ended up being a day of GIVING instead of receiving.

I am ending the day with a full heart after being able to support an open house for Halynn and Harrison who are 2026 Graduates of Pike high school, next go support and purchase sweets from Cretia cakes Customer Appreciation Day while also talk on some future collaborations with Diamond Scholars. Then, I went to support the big cuz virgil akers jr and his new book "Mind of a competitor" and lastly I had a productive season preparation board meeting with a couple Diamond Scholars Board members Esha Bee and Teaa Utley.

I may not have drove around the whole city of Indiandpolis finding all the free items to gain on my bday, BUT, I did literally visit each side of town and support some GREAT causes, organizations and small businesses.

A successful birthday!

An LMS2 BIRTHDAY Moment......❤️

If you know the song, sing along 🫶🏽

🎶🎵Glad to be in the service.....
Glad to be in the service
Glad to be in the service (one more time) one more time
He didn't have to let me live (say)
He didn't have to let me live
Glad to be in the service one more time....

Today marks 42 years of life and grateful is an understatement. I've had multiple people ask me regarding birthday plans, gifts etc. and in all honesty, all I've had on my heart this year has been future and legacy.

The future of our next generation and the legacy that Diamond Scholars Inc. are currently leaving has been made abundantly clear to me over the past year and there's still so much work to be done.

One saying you hear so often is, a person may not always remember what you said to them, but they will always remember how you made them feel. I am so honored to know that if God took me home at this exact moment, I have lived and left a legacy of walking in my truth, keeping to my word, staying accountable all while teaching others those same God servant goals.

On this 42nd birthday, continued legacy structure along with some of my Diamond Scholars Inc board members are using TODAY, yes my birthday, to meet and plan Diamond Scholars continued program season for 2026/2027. This day has many other pieces of importance, BUT, the continuation of being an example and servant for our next generation trumps it all.

Join me in celebrating another year of life and service by donating a birthday donation of $42 to Diamond Scholars Inc. Your donation today will help continue to grow and rebuild a new generation of leaders.

An LMS2 Moment.....❤️

So, I have continued to ask God to guide me in how I am moving ahead and specifically with Diamond Scholars and just this morning he gave me revelation.

So, over my lifetime, I at one point wanted to be a social worker but only because I wanted to go have fun all the time like I THOUGHT my mom was always doing when we were kids. (i.e. taking her clients to kings island, chuck e cheese etc.) Then I also thought about being a foster parent at one point (i.e. took the classes, got certified at 22 after a childhood friend with her baby & my sister & kids all lived with me in my 1st apt and was going to simply be a open vessel for those kids who needed a place)

2010 a KID (Landon, my son) and LMS2events event management fell into play and life completely changed.

2024, my kid struggled, wanted love, friends and community connection and I just said, let's find a way to make you feel better and bring some other kids along for the ride who want and need to find happy too.

God showed me the vision....

Boom, Diamond Scholars emerges.

****Keep reading, you just hit the shouting part of the sermon!💃🏾😂❤️ ****

Now, 2026 and what NOW is Diamond Scholars?!?! Diamond Scholars has literally began to birth ALL the pieces of my heart and its like God has been birthing all the little things I spoke outloud to him over my life. Just even looking at the way God is positioning other non profits and community events in front of Diamond Scholars to introduce to our kids that our goal isnt to take from or even take over but simply bring together our teens who need that help too and say, WE are here, how can WE help?

THIS is the blueprint. Its not about what one person needs, its about how we all are here and simply here to come and help each other WHERE YOU ALREADY ARE!

In this youtube clip below, towards the end of it, Michelle Williams explains how when she joins apart of Destiny's Child. She explains how it wasnt her job to come in trying to change them, but simply HELP!

In a world of crabs in a barrel, its time we help the next generation learn that we are ALL here to simply HELP EACH OTHER!!

THIS IS DIAMOND SCHOLARS. 🫶🏽❤️
