More photos does not mean better photos.
In my studio, I work slowly and intentionally. I give children time to settle into themselves and I choose patience over pressure. I wait for connection and let the moment unfold naturally. That is where the strongest portraits are made.

When a woman turns fifty, it is an iconic and defining moment within herself.
It is a reflection of every skin she has shed, every tear she has cried, and every accomplishment she has made, both small and significant.

Women are warriors.

Giving yourself permission to exist in photographs, to be seen and to express yourself, is an act of healing. To truly look at yourself with vulnerability and grace is to allow self love back in.

When you see yourself, really see yourself, day after day, you begin to fall in love with who you are now…
perhaps even more deeply than you once did.

Help me wish a happy 50th coming up!

Meet Oliver.

The milk chocolate tone was chosen to complement his skin and hair, with a subtle nod to cowhide for an editorial edge.
These portraits might look familiar. You may have seen one on the billboard outside my studio. A quiet reminder of how powerful simple, intentional newborn portraiture can be.

Sarah in the studio

When she first came in, she had little pieces of what she wanted her viewers to feel. She told me the things that inspired her like the feather that held significant meaning, the tones and colors she loved, the vibe she wanted to create, and how these portraits would be going on her website as well as tying into the release of her very first book as an author.

I sent Sarah home with homework to go shopping and find the pieces that would really pull this vision together. When she came back into the studio, she walked in with bags full of everything she had gathered. While she handed me those, I handed her a freshly brewed cup of coffee to enjoy while she went into hair and makeup.

She settled into hair and makeup while I decorated the scene with all the little treasures she brought. Once she stepped out, we went right into shooting. We danced, put on her favorite music, laughed, and wrapped the morning with a big hug.

Then came the moment that always means the most to me. During the reveal, watching her husband smile from ear to ear when the first photo came up and seeing her eyes fill with tears reminded me exactly why I do this. There is nothing more rewarding than watching someone recognize themselves the way they always hoped to be seen.

If you are a business owner looking to create portraits that tell your story with intention and purpose, I would love to help you bring that vision to life.

I’ve been working on a series of videos that share what it’s really like to work with me as your photographer. What you’re investing in, what goes into the experience, and why it’s so much more than just photos.

Stay tuned, because the next clip will walk you through the top five questions you should be asking any photographer before you book them. These questions go far beyond “how much does it cost” and help you figure out whether a photographer’s process, style, and experience actually match what you’re hoping to create.

A lot of people think they want something quick and inexpensive, but those sessions often end up feeling disconnected from their vision. They try a few options, spend money here and there, and still don’t walk away with images that feel like them. Sometimes it’s not about spending less. It’s about choosing intentionally so your investment becomes something meaningful.

Also, let me know what you think about the vibe of this podcast style I’m playing with. I’m honestly so excited about it. This feels like a whole new journey for me, and your support is what keeps me in my creative zone.

If you’re someone who loves learning more about photography, or you want a deeper look into how to choose the right photographer for what you’re dreaming of, keep following along. I have so much more to share.

The Studio On Air. It’s finally happening. 🎙️

I’ve been dreaming up and planning this for so long and the time is finally here.

This podcast is going to be a place where we really get into it. We’re talking all things photography, the questions people are afraid to ask, the behind the scenes truth that actually matters, and the conversations that finally pull the curtain back.

I’ll be educating clients on how to pose, how to pick the perfect photographer, and how to know which one not to pick. I’ll be bringing on business owners to talk about how photography has shaped their brand, elevated their presence, and brought a level of value to their business that most people don’t even realize.

These conversations are honest and real and filled with insight.

For my client listeners, I’ll be sharing the good stuff… how to pose with confidence, what to expect at your session, how to choose a photographer you can trust, and how to understand the difference between average, exceptional, and luxury.

If you’re a business owner and want to be a guest, drop me a shout out.

A senior session started in the studio and completed at sunset.

First, we started shooing in the studio (I’ll share later) and then moved out outdoors to catch the tail end of the day. It’s easy to feel pretty cashed out through a long day of shooting. Both for the client (s) and myself. I can honestly say no one is ever disappointed when I remind them of how worth it, it really is. Think of me as the hype girl cheering you on.

I don’t cut corners or time my sessions. I create and take my time to create real master pieces.

Bring a snack and your favorite playlist.

On set, there’s something timeless about the intensity of a classic black + white portrait. I’ve always believed in the power of stripping away color to let emotion speak in shades of silver, white, and deep shadow. This mother and daughter moment is all about simplicity and that editorial finesse I’ve honed over the years.

Kendra + Clara with the cutest bond.
I went to beauty school with Kendra and captured some of her most precious milestones in her life. Here’s yet another amazing moment.

There’s a bit of Maverick magic in every shot.

I’ve always been drawn to that timeless, fearless spirit of the ’80s...the art, the energy, that Top Gun sense of adventure.
From my pull room, I styled her in an oversized pair of aviators and a soft green suede jacket simple, effortless, and striking. Just a touch of lip gloss and the glow of golden light brought out her blue eyed sparkle, capturing a portrait that feels iconic and unforgettable.

HONESTLY: childhood is fleeting. Parents often spend on toys or outfits their toddlers outgrow in months, but a set of luxury portraits becomes a lasting piece of art. It’s something your child will look back on with pride, and something you’ll treasure long after the little years pass. Instead of a thousand ordinary images, imagine choosing a carefully crafted set of truly exceptional portraits…art that grows with your child and becomes part of your home, like a piece of furniture crafted to last.
A handful of phenomenal images outweighs a hundred mediocre ones. That’s why choosing a luxury photographer is about investing in a legacy, not just a snapshot.
