Happy Wedding Day, Brigid & Will!

These two have been fellow attendees at River Valley, the church my family attends, which has made anticipating this wedding day even sweeter. They are rooted in Christ and so clearly rooted in each other, and I already know today is going to be such a sweet celebration of their marriage.

Set in the gorgeous backyard of Will’s home, this crisp autumn day will be the perfect backdrop for their wedding.

And to make the day even more fun, I get to work alongside Grace August Photography again, a dear friend and fellow vendor!

And, of course, we had to get Will’s dress prediction…

White, A-line (not tight or Cinderella), not a turtleneck, strapless, some texture (cool texture), no buttons.

Happy Wedding Day, Maddi & Stefan!

These two have been on top of every detail throughout the planning process! Our meetings have always gone so smoothly because they’re both so involved, supportive of one another, and clearly so excited to celebrate this day together.

Today is extra special because they’re getting married at Maddi’s parents’ home, which just happens to be the beautiful location of Two Bees & A Bud Flower Farm! After the ceremony, we’ll make our way to Riverbend for a romantic (and very fun!) night celebrating these two and their love story.

And, of course, we have to see how Stefan’s dress prediction holds up…

Dress prediction: More form-fitting, but he’s not exactly sure *how* form-fitting. Straight across neckline?? Definitely lace because Maddi told him so. A little “jushuzz” with some sparkle, maybe bows, and straps that are somewhat thin but still normal with something over the shoulder.

Let’s see how close he got!

Happy wedding day Lucy & Jalen!

These two have been so attentive throughout the entire planning process, caring about every little detail and making sure each decision reflects how much they love and care for the people around them. It has been so sweet to watch them intentionally create a day that makes each of their loved ones feel just as cared for.

And of course... it’s time for the dress prediction!

Jalen predicts: white, form-fitting, straight across, strapless (or maybe a strap), a little lace, and a slit on the side!

Before you start booking vendors, making Pinterest boards, or deciding what color napkins you want, sit down together and ask:

“What are the 3–5 things that matter most to each of us on our wedding day?”

And actually make a list.

Maybe one of you cares most about the food. The other wants incredible photos. Maybe you both want a packed dance floor, a beautiful ceremony, or for your guests to feel welcomed and celebrated.

There’s no right answer, and your priorities don’t have to be the same.

Once you know what matters most, it becomes so much easier to decide where to spend your time, energy, and money.

Your priorities should help guide your budget. If photography is one of your top priorities, you may decide to invest more there. If florals aren’t important to you, you don’t have to spend thousands just because that’s what you see online.

The same goes for your time. Wedding planning can quickly become overwhelming when you feel like you have to do everything. Knowing your priorities helps you figure out what deserves your attention and what you can simplify, delegate, or skip altogether.

Your wedding doesn’t have to have everything.

It just needs to have the things that matter most to you!

Your wedding doesn’t have to be the most Pinterest-perfect wedding. It should be the wedding where, years from now, you can look back and say, “That was so us.”

Choose what you actually love. Don’t include something just because it’s trending or because you saw it on Pinterest. If something makes you genuinely happy every time you see it, that’s a good enough reason to include it.

Be intentional with your decor. You don’t have to fill every space just because you feel like you’re “supposed to.” Think about what you want your guests to notice, experience, and remember.

Create moments that matter to you. You don’t have to do every traditional wedding moment. Keep the ones that feel meaningful and skip the ones that don’t.

Let your personalities show. Your wedding doesn’t need to look like everyone else’s. Your favorite foods, music, colors, traditions, hobbies, or little inside jokes can make the day feel distinctly yours.

And most importantly, prioritize the experience over the photo. Beautiful photos are wonderful, but don’t choose something solely because it will look good on Instagram. Choose things that will make you happy while you’re actually living the day.

Because at the end of the day, your wedding isn’t about creating the perfect wedding. It’s about creating a wedding that feels like you, celebrating your love, and creating a day you’ll genuinely want to remember!

Happy wedding day Brynn & Hudson!

I have absolutely loved every single meeting with this couple. They love the Lord first and foremost, and I know their guests will feel and see every bit of that throughout their wedding day.

Fun fact: I was actually there the night Brynn & Hudson officially met! They met at a friend’s going-away party and went on their first date just a few days later. It has been such a joy to get to know them and hear more of their story as they’ve prepared for today.

Continuing one of my favorite traditions I started this year, during our ceremony meetings, I have the groom “predict” the wedding dress! I give him a few prompts, and he shares his best guess. It’s always so fun to look back later and see just how close he came!

So, here are Hudson’s wedding dress predictions for Brynn:

White
Flowy, but maybe with a mix of form-fitting
Straight-across neckline (although he admitted a halter would be “spicy”)
Thin straps (but not angel-hair thin, because apparently that would also be “spicy”)
No lace
Maybe a bow?
And his biggest prediction: some kind of unexpected X-factor that would make the dress stand out from all the others- maybe a shawl, something see-through, or another special detail he couldn’t quite anticipate
I can’t wait to see how close he came!
