In observance of Kamehameha Day, MC&A’s offices will be closed on Thursday, June 11.

This special holiday honors the knowledge, culture, and heritage of Hawaiʻi, and pays tribute to Kamehameha I (c. 1758 – May 8, 1819)—the aliʻi nui who unified the pae ʻāina (islands) and shaped the future of the lāhui. His legacy continues to inspire aloha, unity, and mālama for our communities.

Here are five fascinating facts about Kamehameha:
- As a child, he was hidden and protected due to a prophecy that he would become a great leader
- He was known for his incredible strength and leadership, earning respect across the islands
- He established the Kānāwai Māmalahoe (Law of the Splintered Paddle), promoting compassion and safety for all

Beginning her career with MC&A as an Event Coordinator and most recently serving as a Senior Event Coordinator, Elizabeth has been a driving force behind our Events team’s success. Her dedication, creativity, and proactive mindset have helped build a strong operational backbone, while her willingness to take on new challenges and continuously grow her skillset made this transition a natural progression.

Heather has played a major role in MC&A’s continued growth and success, leading with vision, innovation, and a true passion for creating exceptional client experiences across Hawaiʻi’s meetings, events, and hospitality industry.

In her expanded role, Heather will now oversee both Sales and Operations — strengthening collaboration across teams and helping drive the future of destination management and event excellence in Hawaiʻi and beyond.

Heather’s leadership has also made a lasting impact throughout the industry. She helped form the Hawaii Events Coalition to support Hawaiʻi’s live events community during post-pandemic recovery and led the relaunch of the MPI Aloha Chapter, where she currently serves as Immediate Past President.
