This little bird is turning TEN this Thursday!🥹

One of the biggest blessings in owning a small business is the gift of time and flexibility in your schedule. There honestly isn’t a day that I am not grateful for that gift or realize how truly wonderful it is.

I left my full time job the day before Harper turned 4 years old. I promised her back then that every birthday after that I would be completely present for her. No flower work at all, just mama being fully there and I’ve continued to keep my promise year after year❤️.

So, I will be enjoying this blessing of time to the fullest by spending this week preparing my home (and heart) to celebrate these ten amazing years with this precious soul!

💐I will not be accepting flower orders this week. This includes wrapped bouquets at the Olive Branch as well.

What a welcome sight… a brand new page on the calendar🍂.

31 chances to start, to keep going, to try something new, to leave something behind or maybe to slow down and lean into the familiar rhythm nature is beginning to nudge us towards.

Beautiful flowers arrived today and more will be gathered slowly tomorrow then intentionally designed with love for a busy fall weekend (and bouquets to The Olive Branch!)

Sweet Amy and Drew, Madi and Logan- my two couples from this past weekend,
On the heels of such a tragic week, designing your flowers brought me peace and healing. I am just so happy for you all. I was reminded deeply that good and wonderful things are still happening in life, and light will always drive out the darkness.

On Thursday when I longed to be at the funeral services for my colleagues and friend, I instead profoundly respected their precious family’s desire for privacy.
Rather than live-streaming the service at home and alone, I decided to honor them quietly through worship music, lifting them and their families up in prayer while working on these weddings.

Truthfully, like many, I’ve been struggling. It’s hard to make sense of something so horrific. In full transparency, we can be honest and wonder at our lowest where God is in all of it. Truthfully and boldly, the answer is He is right next to each and every one of us who has even the tiniest amount of faith left…
He hears you, He’s next to you, He loves you deeply. I’ve seen and heard too much to not believe and share it.

Attaching music to a business page is tricky with copyrights and such, but this song stopped me in my tracks last week and I want to pass the blessing along. Please, please look it up in the quiet of your day and be comforted.

I’ve had a few folks reach out this week regarding bouquets as I haven’t posted about any being available at the olive branch. I actually dropped them off on Wednesday but felt it wasn’t the right time to post. - Shortly after I delivered them, Harper’s school went on lockdown and we found out about the precious officers that we lost, and those that are still recovering from serious injury. I’m struggling to find the words here…

For those that don’t know, I worked in the criminal justice field as a victim/witness coordinator for almost a decade before starting this business. These men aren’t just faces in the news to me. I remember sweet Cody Becker from the times I would occasionally pass him in the halls of the DA’s office, Emenheiser from numerous DV cases and lastly Baker. I worked closely alongside him on cases that I still continue to think about to this day. When I left the office he was proud of me and happy that I was starting something I loved and wished me the best. I remember him for his smile, sarcasm, stature and kindness.

These were great men and fantastic officers.

This has torn a deep hole in my heart and I am praying constantly over their families, my past work family, our leaders and our community.

One of the best parts of living in a state that gets to experience all four seasons is the merge that occurs from one to the next…

From a floral perspective, this is one of the neatest times because Fall is ready to show off all she has to offer and Summer is offering up her best performers to stay in the spotlight.

The textures and colors of this brief ‘in between’ is unique and special.

The bouquets this week at The Olive Branch highlight a little bit of the “in between” with pops of bright “Full Monty” roses, yellow button mums, little fiery plumes of celosia, “Bali Continental” and lavender Alstromeria all snuggled right next to one of my favorite Fall additions- Broom Corn (which I never get to snag before it gets scooped up! But we got it this week!)

I lost my summer flower helper this morning🥲🥹. She’s off to her fourth grade year and her daddy and I wish her the absolute best!

After coffee (and crying)… flowers are now ready for you over at The Olive Branch! Even though Harper and I had it down to a science, Tan stepped up and helped me with the bouquets this morning and did a great job❤️.

💐I’m not going full fall yet, but please enjoy that little nod of a copper/rust mum that goes beautifully with this chilly little morning!

This was my first time ordering for pageant work … I’m a “better safe than sorry” type person so in true fashion I over ordered flowers…
I stuffed these bouquets as full as I could with gorgeous blooms like larkspur, Flamingo roses, calla Lillies, asiatic Lillies, ranunculus, ferns stock and more and STILL had extra!-
So,
These blooms aren’t always what I’m able to put in the weekly bouquets at The Olive Branch in order to keep them budget friendly at $10.99 but today and tomorrow, get in there and get your hands on the wrapped bouquets we just dropped today! No price increase at all, still $10.99 and filled with all these luxe beauties! 😍
