One of the best parts of living in a state that gets to experience all four seasons is the merge that occurs from one to the next…

From a floral perspective, this is one of the neatest times because Fall is ready to show off all she has to offer and Summer is offering up her best performers to stay in the spotlight.

The textures and colors of this brief ‘in between’ is unique and special.

The bouquets this week at The Olive Branch highlight a little bit of the “in between” with pops of bright “Full Monty” roses, yellow button mums, little fiery plumes of celosia, “Bali Continental” and lavender Alstromeria all snuggled right next to one of my favorite Fall additions- Broom Corn (which I never get to snag before it gets scooped up! But we got it this week!)

I lost my summer flower helper this morning🥲🥹. She’s off to her fourth grade year and her daddy and I wish her the absolute best!

After coffee (and crying)… flowers are now ready for you over at The Olive Branch! Even though Harper and I had it down to a science, Tan stepped up and helped me with the bouquets this morning and did a great job❤️.

💐I’m not going full fall yet, but please enjoy that little nod of a copper/rust mum that goes beautifully with this chilly little morning!

🙃 if I didn’t look like such a train wreck this morning I would have posted myself holding one of these bad boys so you could get a true idea of their size !

Pictured below are traditional “arm bouquet” style bouquets that will be presented to the Miss Maryland winner and runner ups as well as Miss Maryland Teen winner/ runner ups this weekend!👑

Here’s where it gets even more fun for you 😉:
This was my first time ordering for pageant work … I’m a “better safe than sorry” type person so in true fashion I over ordered flowers…
I stuffed these bouquets as full as I could with gorgeous blooms like larkspur, Flamingo roses, calla Lillies, asiatic Lillies, ranunculus, ferns stock and more and STILL had extra!-
So,
These blooms aren’t always what I’m able to put in the weekly bouquets at The Olive Branch in order to keep them budget friendly at $10.99 but today and tomorrow, get in there and get your hands on the wrapped bouquets we just dropped today! No price increase at all, still $10.99 and filled with all these luxe beauties! 😍

😎 We’re cooling things down this week with lavender toned shortcake mums, purple snap dragons (Harper’s favorite!) Stock, blue Veronica and purple limonium. Those Linette Cremon mums and Vidal gerbera daisies bring just the right amount of heat to balance things out.

{ 🪴 Our Next Design Class is Thursday July 17th at 6:30pm- Summertime Terrariums !🪴}please join me! -

This fun group of best friends since high school got together at our design space to catch up and create these unique terrariums together on a Sunday afternoon early last month! Their talented events coordinator friend ( and my sweet mom-in-law!) requested and booked their private party and it was so much fun!

🤍 I loved how these terrariums turned out so much that I’m offering it again to you!

•🌱 We will be creating this exact glass terrarium. Everything will be provided for this class including the glass terrarium, 3-4 succulents, soil, accenting top dressings ( moss/ shells/ rocks etc) and the tools needed to create your masterpiece!

A special thank you to Whipwood Gardens for sharing her beautiful bounty with us for our Fourth of July, Red White and Bloom design class last week!

We only worked with local flowers, filler and greenery for this class.🇺🇸
Feverfew, bachelor buttons, campanula, mountain mint, vibernum and more were some of the blooms we enjoyed designing with and everyone did such a wonderful job!
It was so great to get back into the design space again. I’ve missed classes so much!

There is a purpose and intent to this rambling post…
Flowers were the pulse to so many moments in my life. They were a part time job in high school where it all began, turned into a full time job as a military wife, then flowers were a weekend side hustle next to my criminal justice career…now flowers are the heart of what I do for a living.
I’d like to offer a Fourth of July design class. An all American red white and blue design focused on local grown goodness. Please read on if you have the time 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

The weekend before Memorial Day we were blessed with a free weekend. We marked it out early on the calendar with tentative hope that we would be able to catch the air show at Mcguire Air Force Base that weekend. We were grateful to be able to make it happen with safe travels, perfect weather and no sickness or issues.

This honestly wasn’t just an air show for us, it was held at the same Air Force Base where we were stationed as newlyweds, and we were traveling back, even just for a day to our roots and our beginning, this time with our daughter!

We were able to walk onto the plane Tan flew on years ago and it was surreal to see him sit in his old “work chair” and think about where we are now. We got to enjoy the whole airshow under the wing and shade of that C-17.

Tanner’s time in the military wasn’t easy. God was in our story in a tremendous way and we came very close to not being where we are today. As a military wife all you ever pray is that they come back home safely on that plane at the end of the local flight , the mission, the deployment… and there I stood years later, with our beautiful daughter, with my healthy husband, and an incredibly grateful heart.

I haven’t stopped thinking about our little trip, especially on the heels of Memorial Day and with the Fourth of July on the horizon. so again, I turn back to flowers as a way to accentuate the moments in our lives.
I would love to share this class with you and praying there is interest. I know times are financially tight which is part of the reason I’ve pressed pause on many design class offerings. But I really feel this one needs to happen!

•Tuesday, July 1st at 6pm $45 a person. I’ll be featuring local grown flowers from different local flower farms across the area and we will be designing in a mason jar - perfect for repurposing later for those evening lightening bug catches.

This class is perfect for designers of any skill level. You are welcome to BYOB and light refreshments will be provided.

Dolly, our flower rack, is still recovering from being out on the road this past weekend and wow did she have fun💃!
Our sweet girl will be back home in her original space at The Olive Branch next week!

💐 But no worries, buckets of blooms are still available for you this week! These wrapped bouquets are filled with Pink Floyd roses , Ying Yang Smoke mums, Coral Carnival Statice, lavender Lisianthus, “Smart” gerbera daisies, Bali and Canyon peach Alstromeria, Jelly carnations and more !

And we ask for a little extra grace this week with our wrapping!❤️- there is a new florist in town who asked to help with the weekly bouquets!!- and you know I’m not turning that down!
After a couple tries and crumpled up papers, she finally got the hang of that flower “cone” shape that shows off the beautiful blooms.

Thank you for your love and understanding as I do my best to ensure my daughter grows up to not only still enjoy flowers, but has good memories of us together designing them.🥲
