I’ve never been afraid of a little color.🌸

Especially when a room gives me this much blue to play with.
For this arrangement, I leaned into the contrast with striking pink peonies and hydrangeas, layering in greenery and smaller supporting stems to soften the composition and create the loose, natural movement I’m always drawn to.

When I’m designing with lifelike faux florals, complementing a room doesn’t necessarily mean echoing its existing palette. Sometimes the more compelling choice is contrast, introducing a color that catches the eye, creates dimension and brings a new rhythm to the space.

That’s why I always consider an arrangement in conversation with the interior design surrounding it. Scale, proportion, palette and placement all play a role, but so does knowing when a room can carry something a little unexpected.

Here, the vibrant peonies provide just enough counterpoint to the cooler tones surrounding them, while the greenery keeps the overall composition relaxed and organic.

And because I work with faux florals, I have the freedom to design around what a space calls for rather than what happens to be blooming at that particular moment.

The toughest critic in the house did insist on conducting her own inspection. I believe we passed. 🐾🌸

I think we often underestimate how much the small details influence the way we experience a space. 🌿

When you walk into a beautiful inn, guest house or vacation home, you may notice the furniture and architecture first. But what makes you settle in and feel cared for is often much quieter.

Flowers on the table. 🌸 A comfortable chair by the window. A book left within reach. The sense that someone thought about how this room would feel and function, not simply how it would photograph.

That distinction matters in hospitality. Because good design involves more than simply making a lovely first impression.

For spaces that welcome people again and again, the details have to do more than look beautiful. They have to remain beautiful, day after day.🌿

Beautiful spaces get noticed. Thoughtful ones get remembered. 🤍

Hydrangeas may steal the spotlight, but they’re never working alone. 💙

Everyone notices the hydrangeas first. And with those beautiful blues, how could you not?

But one of my favorite aspects of composing a faux floral arrangement is designing the spaces between the stars of the show.

The delicate white florals that soften the blues. Wispy greenery that adds movement. Smaller stems tucked here and there to create texture, dimension, and balance.

Because when it comes to creating a beautiful floral arrangement, whether it be real or faux, the secondary stems matter just as much as the primary showstoppers.

It’s all those little details working together that make you stop, look a little closer, and wonder… are those really faux? 🌿

Every custom floral arrangement begins long before the first stem is placed. 🌿

For this project, I had the pleasure of creating a custom faux floral arrangement for the Carriage House at Main Street Home , designed by the incredibly talented Emily Field 🤍

Rather than starting with flowers, we started with the space itself.

The mood board, daisy wallpaper, soft sage millwork, layered textiles, and even the surrounding landscape all became part of the creative process. Some of the best design inspiration is already growing around us. 🌼

My goal is never to create an arrangement that simply fills a vase. It’s to design something that feels like it has always belonged in the room, complementing the architecture, finishes, and personality of the home.

Collaborating with interior designers to create custom faux floral arrangements is one of my favorite parts of what I do. Every project is an opportunity to create something unique, thoughtful, and tailored specifically to the space. ✨

Thank you, Emily, for trusting me with your vision. It was such a joy to bring it to life.

Some tables just know how to throw a party. 🌸

Before the first guest arrives.

Before the first toast.

Before someone says, “I’ll only stay for an hour,” and somehow ends up being the last to leave.

I’ve always loved creating floral arrangements for spaces like this because they’re about so much more than the flowers.

They’re about setting a mood.

A little color.

A little movement.

A little surprise.

The kind of table that makes people want to pull up a chair, pour another glass of wine, and stay awhile.

When I design faux florals, I’m not just thinking about the arrangement itself. I’m thinking about how it will live in the space. How it complements the table, catches the afternoon light, and becomes part of the stories shared around it.

One of my favorite things about faux florals is that they’re always ready.

No last-minute trip to the florist before guests arrive.

No worrying about whether the centerpiece will still look beautiful halfway through the weekend.

Just a thoughtfully designed arrangement that’s ready whenever the occasion, or the people you love, happen to show up.

Because the best tables aren’t remembered for every little detail.

They’re remembered for the way they made everyone feel.

If the flowers helped create that feeling…

Then they’ve done exactly what they were meant to do. 🌿

A sleeping porch may be one of New England’s best ideas. 🤍

Equal parts bedroom and retreat, it’s the kind of space that makes you want to leave the windows open and linger over a second cup of coffee.

I’ve always believed flowers belong in rooms like this.

Not because every room needs decorating, but because flowers have a quiet way of making people feel welcome.

Whether it’s a guest room in your own home or a charming New England bed and breakfast, they say something before a host ever does.

We were expecting you.

This custom faux arrangement was designed to do exactly that. 🌿

Every bloom is faux, so it stays fresh-looking from one guest to the next, without watering, wilting, or last-minute replacements.

To me, that’s one of the greatest luxuries of faux florals.

Not just that they last…

But that they’re always ready to welcome someone. 🤍

Confession…

I have a soft spot for blue and white anything - ginger jars, bowls, tureens...any vessel that has a basin is fair game💙

Actually… that’s not much of a confession if you’ve been here for a while.

Pair one with garden roses and suddenly I’m moving it from the kitchen, to the coffee table, to the entryway… then back to the kitchen because the light is better in there. Maybe that’s the Virgo in me; or perhaps it is the versatility these arrangements offer?

The flowers, on the other hand, aren’t nearly as high maintenance.

Every bloom is faux.

The best faux florals have the same movement, texture and character as fresh flowers. The difference is, they stay that way.

I love knowing this arrangement will be just as beautiful next season as it is today.

And yes… I’ll probably still be deciding where it looks best. 😉
