When our guests ask where to eat in Georgetown, The Independent immediately comes to mind.

Just about a mile from Winyah Bay Club, The Independent serves incredible, ingredient-driven seafood with a menu that highlights the best of the Lowcountry, including local fishermen, farmers, and purveyors.

The food is exceptional, but what really makes a meal here stand out is the hospitality. The team goes above and beyond, making you feel genuinely taken care of and turning dinner into an experience you’ll remember.

A few of our recommendations:
• Raw oysters
• Baked oysters
• Deviled eggs (topped with a fried oyster)
• Crab fingers with housemade remoulade
• Watermelon feta salad
• Crab cakes
• Cheshire bone-in pork chop

For the table:
• Braised collard greens
