1. Guest count, trim this by 20% or more, be aggressive. Smaller guest count = more bang for your buck.

2. Food choices. It matters but a great caterer can work well with diverse ingredients. Doesn’t have to be premium all the way around.

3. Staffing, probably the most overlooked but the most necessary when it comes to adding a great experience for your guest. People make magic.

4. Add on “creep” . Adding snacks, upgraded linens, ch*****ne toasts, while all of these are amazing and we love them, you can deviate from original budgets quickly!

5. Timelines. Don’t forget, in most situations your caterer is in charge of setting up AND breaking down at the end of the night. Extending the part by an hour or two can tag on hundreds or even thousands to the bill.
