There is a lot more thought behind a bridal bouquet than most people realize. 💐

When I design a bouquet, I’m not simply asking, “Which flowers look beautiful together?”

I’m thinking about the person who will carry it.

What is her personal style? What does her dress look like? What is her height and frame? Should the bouquet feel structured or organic? Soft or dramatic? How will it photograph? How will it look as she walks down the aisle?

Then I think about the flowers themselves.

Which bloom should command attention? Which flowers create movement? Where does the eye need a moment of rest? How do color, texture, shape and negative space work together?

Because a bouquet can be filled with beautiful flowers and still not be beautifully designed.

Of all the floral pieces created for a wedding, this is the one she carries with her.

Down the aisle.
Through her portraits.
Beside the person she’s marrying.
And into photographs she’ll keep for the rest of her life.

A bridal bouquet isn’t just something beautiful to hold. It’s something deeply personal to design.

Two flower varieties. One color story. Endless possibilities. 🤍

Creating drama in floral design doesn’t always require an extensive flower recipe or a bold color palette.

Sometimes, the most impactful designs are the ones that embrace simplicity.

For this installation, hydrangeas provide volume and texture, while lilies introduce movement and an unexpected contrast in shape. Subtle variations of ivory, cream, and green create depth, and intentional placement gives the design its sculptural presence.

The secret isn’t in the number of varieties. It’s in understanding how each flower contributes to the overall composition.

Luxury is not always about adding more. Sometimes, it’s about knowing exactly when you’ve done enough.

Today, I’m writing this to motivate myself.

There was a time when I was afraid to talk about the hard parts of business.

I wanted it to look like I had it all together. And when I didn’t, I thought it was better to stay quiet than to burden people with the parts that felt like failure.

But the truth is this…

There are seasons when I’m tired, confused, and unsure of my next move—wondering if what I’m building is actually going to work.

And I’ve learned that some of the greatest opportunities for growth come from the most transparent places.

There is strength in grinding in silence. But there is also authenticity in being honest about the process.

Everyone and I mean everyone in business experiences highs and lows.

Don’t let social media convince you otherwise.

Someone else’s season of success doesn’t mean they’ve never struggled. And someone else doing well doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong.

Sometimes you’re growing.
Sometimes you’re rebuilding.
Sometimes you’re figuring it out as you go.

The goal is to keep going.

Because one day, the part of your story you were once afraid to share may be the exact part that inspires someone else not to give up.

Here’s to building, learning, adjusting and being transparent enough to admit that none of us have it all figured out. 🤍

Five years later, we still remembered each other.

I met Angelica Wheaton during a pivotal season in my business. She runs Pacific Business Partners in Long Beach, California, and I’m the founder of Perfectly Adorned Event Decor in Washington, DC, but distance never got in the way of building a genuine connection.

Her logical way of thinking complemented my analytical mind so well. Over time, our businesses naturally evolved in different directions, but the respect and connection remained.

About a month ago, she reached out while visiting Washington, DC, for the very first time. I was so excited that we finally had the chance to meet in person! It honestly felt like we picked up right where we left off.

One of the greatest investments you can make in business is in your relationships.

Not because you’re hoping to get something in return, but because you genuinely value the people you meet. Sometimes the opportunity doesn’t come right away. Sometimes it never comes in the way you expect. But meaningful relationships have a way of opening doors, teaching lessons, and creating moments you never could have planned.

People may forget the details of a conversation, but they rarely forget how you made them feel. Build the relationship first. Everything else has a way of following.

For this Juneteenth celebration hosted by MasterCard, IHG, and Chase, every design decision was intentional from African-inspired vessels to a floral palette celebrating the beauty of the African diaspora.

The goal wasn’t simply beautiful centerpieces.

It was to create an atmosphere that honored culture, complemented the cuisine, and gave guests an experience they could feel the moment they walked into the room.
