APRIL 16th-Rocky Mount, VA: The Early Inn will be working with Twin Creeks Distillery to present "A Night of Makin' Likker". Myself, Joey Cox, Stuart Werner, Jackie Cooper, Ernie Power, and Crystal Shipley, will be playing some Bluegrass for this event. There will be groups taken to the distillery for tastings, as well as dinner served. Go to the Early Inn's page to purcase tickets. Only a limited amount will be sold. Hope to see you there!!

Finally! The new studio is built and up and running! Works perfect. Just recently upgraded to the UAD Apollo 8 and Adam monitors. Interface and speakers were bought new and used in the same smoke free studio since they came out of the box. Great startup rig for someone.

We're kicking off 2020 with a jam-packed January. It all starts Tuesday with Open Mic with Ben Rakes and Dilly Valley Recordings. Then Thursday come in for some Old School BINGO with Old's Cool.

About Ben Rakes

Starting my journey on the guitar at age 13, I began learning to record myself using the simpler home methods of the time. Such as, four track tape, digital 8 tracks, and on to Digital Audio Workstations (DAW). After studying the tricks of the trade for many years, I'd like to work with YOU to get that song recorded that's been bouncing around in your head. Not just record it, but help produce it and bring it to life. I can record you or your band/duo live, track everything individually, or a hydrid of the two.

Free for you to use in the Studio, are 2 fine C.F. Martin Custom Shop acoustic guitars, a Custom Morris mandolin, and a Fender Jazz Bass! I have quite a few musicians I can call on, to play on your record, upon request. Including; Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Dobro, and Bass players, as well as, male and female harmony singers. Fill out the Quote Request Form below and I can schedule a time just to talk about your musical goals and how I can help you achieve them!

My main goal at Dilly Valley, is to capture the sweet tones of acoustic instruments and layer that under your wonderful voice. Giving you a recording to share for many years to come. Just to reiterate, I just want you happy when the project comes to a close and will work with you any way I can!
