The journey may begin at a regional show, but the destination is something special.

The annual West Coast Reining Championships will be held in conjunction with the High Roller Reining Classic at the South Point Arena & Event Center in Las Vegas.

WCRC is designed to give ancillary exhibitors more than another class to enter. Qualified exhibitors will arrive in Las Vegas having earned their place in a Championship created to recognize their achievement and elevate their entire competition experience.

Championship titles, trophy saddles, custom Gist buckles, premium awards, added prize money, on-stage draws, special award presentations, exhibitor celebrations and social events will come together to create an experience worthy of becoming a West Coast Champion.

At its core, WCRC is about strengthening regional reining, encouraging participation close to home, recognizing the exhibitors who support those events, and creating a new championship pathway that brings the Western United States and Western Canada together in Las Vegas.

Your road to Las Vegas starts at home.

Introducing the West Coast Reining Championships (WCRC)—created to support the ancillary divisions that are the foundation of our reining community.

Our mission is to elevate regional events, encourage grassroots development, and celebrate the riders who love their horses and love to compete. By creating opportunities to qualify close to home, WCRC connects local participation with a championship experience in Las Vegas.

The inaugural championships will take place September 10–18, 2027, at the South Point Arena & Event Center, in conjunction with the High Roller Reining Classic.

We’re excited to announce that Cactus Reining Classic will host two full slates of WCRC qualifying classes at its March 2027 event!

Outreach to additional host events is underway, with enthusiastic responses. More participating events will be announced as they are confirmed.

The Crown Jewel Incentive is about rewarding the people who invest in a horse’s future — and that reward follows the NOMINATOR, not the ownership of the horse. AND Stallions are NOT required to be nominated for your horse to compete!

This year’s inaugural Crown Jewel Futurity showed exactly how the program is designed to work. When a nominated horse earned a Top Five placing in an eligible division, the Nominator of Record earned the corresponding Crown Jewel Incentive payout.

And here’s the important part: you do not have to own that horse when it competes to receive the Nominator payout.

If you nominate a weanling, yearling or two-year-old and are established as the Nominator of Record, your eligibility for future incentive payouts remains with you even if that horse is later sold. The Terms & Conditions specifically provide that early nominators retain the right to applicable Nominator Incentive payouts regardless of who owns the horse at the time of competition.

That creates an entirely different opportunity for breeders, owners, trainers and anyone willing to identify and invest in promising young horses early.

Nominate them young. Nominate them before you sell them. And if you see a horse you believe has a future in the Crown Jewel, you can be the one who puts your name behind it.

Early nomination also costs less. Current Open nomination fees are based on the horse’s age: $250 as a weanling, $350 as a yearling, $450 as a two-year-old and $550 in the three-year-old competition year.

Get your eligible weanlings, yearlings and two-year-olds nominated and establish your place in their Crown Jewel future.

The horse may change hands.
