What is a Daylily? My Moma's favorite flower, why we named our ranch after this unique plant, & raise them.
Botanical name: Hemermocallis app.
Each blossom lasts only 1 day, as described by its name. Its quite a feat with beautiful displays of colors! Most all parts of this plant are edible & looks gorgeous on salads & desserts.
USDA Zones: 3-9 Hardy to -40 degrees! 😯
This plant handles lots of variation climates from very hot & dry to humid & wet.
The best part is all are in bloom this weekend for our Open House 😊

A little about me: JME Lysinger- owner of Squaw Butte Daylily Ranch Venue
● grew up on this Ranch in Emmett, ID.
● my parents still live here
● graduated with a BS Animal Science from University of Idaho... GO VANDALS!
● married to the guy that taught me about the love for a VW-Rabbit 🥰
● raise commercial Hereford cattle on Squaw Butte Daylily Ranch, that was started from my very 1st 4H heifer
● Aries- I truly love people and getting to know them!
● Mattie 🐶 & Parmesan 🐱's Moma
● my 1st hero was my Grandpa, the OG cowboy
● learned how to "drive a stick" on an old Volvo
● The 'Fleur d' lis' is my signature sign and homage to my Louisiana birthplace
● my favorite song is 'Paint It Black' by the Rolling Stones
