This may be the most anticipated fight of night, at least for those of us who follow the scene closely. Lets have a conversation.
Willie "The Rainmaker" Henderson III is a very confident fighter, with a hint of arrogance and showmanship. He first called out "Da Hoodlum" months ago after seeing a clip posted by yours truly of his fight last year in OKC vs Siron Harrison. I believe the word "Tubby" was used, and it has escalated from there. You can find the whole saga on our Instagram reels. But let's talk about the Rainmaker from a skill standpoint. He is very tall for this division, and although he only has a few pro kickboxing fights. He is undefeated, and has beaten guys with much more experience on paper than him. So it's not surprise he feels like Mr. Phillips will be no different. Having the reach advantage and an arsenal of strikes available to him. Look for him to control distance, and keep the fight where he wants it. Whether that is center of the ring, or pushing Brandon against the ropes. Look for him to attack the body first, and go after the head once the hands drop.
Brandon "Da Hoodlum" Phillips DOES NOT LIKE BEING CALLED FAT!! That much is apparent, but really he doesn't like being called out at all. Once again check out our reels for the full responses from him. They are epic!! Coming from an old school mentality he has accepted every challenge from day 1 in his career. Whether it's competing against world champions in Bellator and LFA, or going up against a tall, lanky, southpaw in HF (sound familiar) in Siron Harrison. Brandon fears no one and will always bring the fight. What he does lack in height and reach, he more than makes up for in experience, skills, and grit. Look for him to crash inside using his low kicks, and jab, to set up the big overhand right.
