Miss 5 de Mayo Amaya Mendoza had the honor of attending the Memorial Day event hosted by Val Verde County. She was joined by Lil Miss 5 de Mayo - Amilia Zambrano, Jr Miss 5 de Mayo - Kailey Leewright, and Lil Miss Del Rio Scarlett Marrufo, collectively representing the Queens for a Cause this morning. This commemoration pays tribute to the brave men and women of the armed services who selflessly fought and died for our country. We remember them today, perpetuating their legacy through our remembrance of their sacrifices.

Participate in the Night and Light Up Parade on September 14, 2025. The inaugural TacoRiendo 5K will take place, starting at SF Lions park and finishing at Plaza Brown. Runners will join the parade route, cheered on by spectators. To register, parade entries should scan the QR code. We are also recruiting Parade Ambassadors for this year.

In a show of gratitude for our local law enforcement officers, Miss 5 de Mayo - Leilani Garcia and Miss Sherman - Andrea Padilla (former Miss Del Rio and former Miss Val Verde) visited and enjoyed coffee and donuts with police officers and also conducted interviews with some.

9 pageant queens from Del Rio joined the most extravagant part of San Antonio’s multi-day Fiesta festival by appearing in the Flambeau Parade this year, which is known as the largest illuminated night parade in America. The local queens who appeared in the parade are crowned by the Brown Plaza Association, creating a lineup of celebration-themed titles, including Miss Fiesta and Miss Cinco de Mayo, and range from ages 6 to 20 years old. Riding atop a vibrant float designed to represent the Amistad Dam and its iconic eagle statues, the BPA royalty energized the parade-goers with their dance moves while serving as cultural ambassadors of Del Rio...
