The Brown Plaza Association is a proud nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and representing the rich culture and history of Brown Plaza.
Del Rio delivered joy to over 750,000 spectators and this is what made everyone on the float real superstars in promoting delightful Del Rio.
This year, they made a powerful impression at the largest illuminated televised parade, Fiesta Flambeau Parade.
With creativity, dedication, and community pride, the association brought home another award continuing an incredible streak of recognition every year they have participated. From earning 2nd place their very first year and in the top 3 in people’s choice to now securing a 3rd place win, their impact continues to grow, along with their strong fan base in San Antonio.
Their award-winning floats showcase the spirit of Fiesta through vibrant landmarks, local royalty, and a live DJ promoting tourism and celebrating the pride of Del Rio and the Brown Plaza community.
Helping represent Del Rio on the float were Miss 5 de Mayo Leilani Garcia, Jr. Miss 4th of July Aunika Garcia, Mr. 5 de Mayo George Olivo and family, all serving as ambassadors of goodwill. Brown Plaza member and DJ Sammy Lopez kept the energy alive, bringing the party directly to the parade route. Also representing with pride was Brown Plaza member and former Mrs. 5 de Mayo Claudia Lopez.
Special recognition goes to Robert Garcia for driving the float safely through the parade, and to creative directors Dolores and Priscilla Martinez for bringing their incredible float designs to fruition.
The countless hours of hard work, dedication, and teamwork from every member truly made this achievement possible. A heartfelt thank you to all members of the Brown Plaza Association for your commitment and passion.
Let’s all come together to congratulate the Brown Plaza Association for making history as the first nonprofit organization to bring home an award from this prestigious parade three years ago and a repeat this year!
